VEGAS INVITATIONAL: Jake Epstein’s 29 points not enough for The Meadows

JoJo Walker scored 26 points Wednesday night to lead St. Joseph (California) to a 74-55 win over The Meadows in the winner’s bracket semifinals of the Vegas Invitational boys basketball tournament at Mountain View.

St. Joseph outscored the Mustangs 17-7 in the opening quarter to take control. The Knights advanced to the championship game against Carlsbad (California) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Jake Epstein poured in 29 points to lead The Meadows, which got 11 points from Allen Fridman.

Spring Mountain 59, Bonanza 56 — Jaylon McKenzie drained a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift the Golden Eagles by the Bengals.

McKenzie had 18 points, and Rowen Robinson added 13 points for Spring Mountain.

Brandon Noone paced Bonanza with 15 points, and teammate Chase Hafen scored 12.

Bonanza 65, Brethren Christian (Calif.) 52 — Hafen led a balanced attack with 12 points as the Bengals downed the Warriors.

Steven Reese added 10 points for the Bengals, who led 33-17 at the half.

Brethren Christian’s Jake McKay led all scorers with 22 points.

Adelson School 65, River Valley 34 — Jake Buchman poured in 19 points as the Lions ran away from the Dust Devils.

Miles Hagan added 11 points for Adelson School, which led 45-23 at the half and extended the margin to 63-27 after three quarters.

Chadwick School (Calif.) 59, Mountain View 47 — Matthew Good hit eight 3-pointers and finished with 31 points as the Dolphins topped the Saints.

Chadwick made 11 3-pointers in the game and led 15-2 after the first quarter.

Tyrell Brooks poured in 29 points, and Terrell Brooks added 14 points for Mountain View.

Harbor Teacher Prep (Calif.) 62, Pahrump Valley 59 — Cameron Yarbrough led four double-figure scorers with 19 points as the Monarchs held off the Trojans.

Stevyn Blackshear added 13 points, and Elijah Chandler and Chestan James each scored 10 for Harbor Teacher.

Parker Hart pumped in 27 points to lead Pahrump, which got 21 points from Antonio Fortin.

Buhach Colony (Calif.) 67, Moapa Valley 64 — Jeremy Sicarios had 20 points to help the Thunder nip the Pirates.

Irik Dobbins added 15 points for Buhach Colony, which rallied from an 18-9 first-quarter deficit.

Nathaniel Thompson led Moapa Valley with 23 points. Chase Kruse had 17 points, and Tyler Peterson scored 14 for Moapa Valley.
