GIRLS BASKETBALL: Valley’s Cabanero posts triple double in win over Dragons

Gabrielle Cabanero had 21 points, 11 rebounds and 10 steals Tuesday to help Valley’s girls basketball team to a 68-31 home win over Del Sol.

Kennedy Wharton added 17 points and 18 rebounds, and Zhani Thomas supplied six points and 11 rebounds for Valley, which raced to a 19-0 first quarter lead.

Astrid Rodriguez had eight points for Del Sol.

Tech 45, Spring Valley 44 — At Spring Valley, Clarissa Szluha had eight points, including the go-ahead free throw with six seconds left, as the Roadrunners edged the Grizzlies.

Jasmine Haywood scored 12 points, and Haylee Holsclaw added eight points for Tech, which took advantage of a 12-2 first quarter run.

Shania Davis supplied 15 points to lead Spring Valley, which got nine points apiece from Isabel Anderson and Aliana Reale.

Legacy 43, Arbor View 41 — At Legacy, Carolina Rahkonen scored 16 points, and Charleea Armstrong had eight points and nine rebounds as the Longhorns held off the Aggies.

Markeisha Evans added seven points and 10 rebounds for Legacy, which trailed 33-32 entering the fourth quarter.

Ariona Gill scored 14 points for Arbor View.

Pahrump Valley 33, Bonanza 31 — At Bonanza, Shayla Dance scored five of her 10 points in the fourth quarter as the Trojans rallied to defeat the Bengals.

Alyssa Murphy added seven points for Pahrump, which went 5-for-5 from the free-throw line in the final minutes.

Jasmine Brass had seven points for Bonanza, which led 21-15 entering the fourth quarter.

Foothill 67, Palo Verde 47 — At Palo Verde, Kelsey McFarland scored 21 points to help the Falcons defeat the Panthers.

Taylor Turney added 14 points, and Gabby Doxtator scored 11 for Foothill, which took over with a run late in the third quarter.

Nallah Thomas-McDade led Palo Verde with 13 points. Brooklyn Cruz added 12 points, and Paulina Silcox scored 10 points for the Panthers.

Bishop Gorman 58, Faith Lutheran 49 — At Faith Lutheran, Raychel Stanley scored 26 points, and the Gaels used a 19-12 fourth-quarter spurt to down the Crusaders.

Maddison Washington added 11 points for Gorman.

Dani Tharaldson scored 20 points to lead Faith Lutheran, which got eight points from Alex Wright.

Canyon Springs 71, Durango 32 — At Canyon Springs, Cherise Beynon scored 16 points to help the Pioneers roll past the Trailblazers.

LaKiya Yarber added 13 points, three assists and two steals for Canyon Springs, and teammate Trimece Thomas finished with eight points, 11 rebounds and two steals.

Brittany Romo led Durango with 10 points.

Cheyenne 46, Desert Pines 23 — At Cheyenne, Bria Buchanan had 20 points and six rebounds to lead the Desert Shields to an easy win over the Jaguars.

Marisha Harden added 12 points for Cheyenne, which cruised to a 31-15 halftime lead.

Chrystian Myles led Desert Pines with 11 points.

Desert Hills (Utah) 60, Centennial 44 — At Centennial, Kenzie Done had 16 points, and the Thunder rolled to a 26-14 halftime lead on their way to a win over the Bulldogs.

Teirra Hicks had 15 points and 11 rebounds for Centennial. Tramina Jordan added 11 points, and Karina Brandon had 10 points for the Bulldogs.

Green Valley 77, Basic 63 — At Green Valley, Rianna Rudolph had 19 points, eight steals and five assists to help the Gators beat the Wolves.

Brooke Haney added 18 points, five rebounds and four steals for Green Valley, which took control early. Teammate Ellee Barton had 16 points, nine rebounds and three steals.

Dana Deloney led Basic with 35 points.

Cimarron-Memorial 72, Sierra Vista 57 — At Sierra Vista, Shataya Harper poured in 30 points to lead the Spartans by the Mountain Lions.

Celine Acfalale had 17 points, and Shauntel Efferson scored 15 for Cimarron, which used a 26-8 third-quarter run to take control.

Sierra Vista’s Kennedy Nieves had 25 points and 10 rebounds, and Kelsey Jimenez added 11 points for the Mountan Lions.

Desert Oasis 54, Sunrise Mountain 36 — At Desert Oasis, Mikala Kirby led a balanced attack with 13 points, and the Diamondbacks bolted to a 25-6 halftime lead and downed the Miners.

Brianna Battisti and Ashlynn Sharp each had 11 points, and Thessa Fernando scored 10 for Desert Oasis.

Brittany Veal had 17 points for Sunrise Mountain.

Virgin Valley 66, Silverado 37 — At Mesquite, Abbie Barnard scored 18 points as the Bulldogs downed the Skyhawks.

Spencer Green added 15 points for Virgin Valley, which outscored Silverado 33-14 in the second half.

Deja Siaki led Silverado with 14 points.

Mountain View 50, Indian Springs 24 — At Indian Springs, Kiley Murphy scored 15 points to lead the Saints to an easy win over the Thunderbirds.

Rose Adkins had 11 points, and Rachel Horita added 10 points for Mountain View.

Baylee McCormick supplied 14 points and eight rebounds to lead Indian Springs.

Adelson School 51, Word of Life 7 — Shoshana Wexler scored 19 points, and Erykah Blackwell added 11 as the Lions coasted past the Eagles.

Adelson School led 20-2 at halftime and held the Eagles scoreless in the second and third quarters.

Cherish Greene had five points to lead Word of Life.

Needles 34, Palo Verde Valley (Calif.) 27 — At Blythe, Calif., Brenna Chavez and Caitlyn Courtwright each scored nine points to lead the Mustangs past the Yellowjackets.

Louisa Gonzalez had 11 points to lead Palo Verde Valley.
