ROUNDUP: Basic girls drain free throws, hold off Green Valley

Dana Deloney scored 15 points, and Basic’s girls basketball team converted 15 of 20 free throws, including 7-for-10 in the fourth quarter, en route to a 57-54 road win over Green Valley’s girls basketball team on Tuesday.

Marissa Ross added 14 points, and Kelsey Gunther and Kailai Brantner each had 11 points for the Wolves.

Maggie Manwarren supplied 17 points, and Angelica Mack posted 17 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Gators. 

Foothill 50, Coronado 48 — At Coronado, Bri Higgins scored 13 points, and teammate Christina Nash added 11 points as the Falcons outlasted the Cougars.

Sofie Cruz had 16 points for Coronado, which trailed 41-34 after three quarters. Aubre Fortner added 11 points for the Cougars.

Silverado 63, Tech 44 — At Tech, Jessica Meyers had all 20 of her points in the first three quarters to help the Skyhawks top the Roadrunners.

Brittany Loguidice added 12 points for Silverado, which led 31-14 at the half.

Kristena Wilson paced Tech with 12 points. Clarissa Szluha added 11 points, and Cristina Tatsanaram had 10 points for the Roadrunners.

Liberty 62, Del Sol 20 — At Del Sol, Sydney Clark poured in 19 points, and the Patriots built a 33-8 halftime lead en route to a win over the Dragons.

Desiree Orozco led Del Sol with six points.

Desert Pines 52, Chaparral 48 — At Desert Pines, Kiana Alexander scored 21 points to help the Jaguars hold off the Cowboys.

Cydney Myles had 18 points, 10 rebounds and four steals for Desert Pines, which led 36-14 at the half.

Tichina Savoy had 18 points for Chaparral.

Las Vegas 56, Valley 36 — At Las Vegas High, Shaleea Butler and Tonnisha Thomas each had 12 points to lead the Wildcats past the Vikings.

Shomari Harris added 11 points for Las Vegas, which held Valley to 21 points over the final three quarters.

Tyricia Payne led the Vikings with 17 points.

Canyon Springs 56, Sunrise Mountain 23 — At Canyon Springs, Cherise Beynon had 17 points, 11 rebounds and six steals to help the Pioneers blitz the Miners.

Pearl Paulo added 14 points, 15 rebounds and four steals, and Mandy Chitwood supplied 11 points and five steals for Canyon Springs.

Kimdre’ana Jefferies led Sunrise Mountain with six points.

Rancho 61, Eldorado 20 — At Eldorado, LaKissa Martin led a balanced attack with 11 points as the Rams pulled away from the Sundevils.

Jada Wilson and Kanosha Gray each added 10 points for Rancho, which outscored Eldorado 29-5 in the second half.

Deniseun Jackson had 13 points for Eldorado.

Needles 47, Calvary Chapel 31 — At Calvary Chapel, Abby Chandler poured in 19 points in leading the Mustangs to a win over the Lions.

Holly Laswell and Caitlyn Courtwright added eight points apiece for Needles.

Deja Harris led Calvary Chapel with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Phallen Nelson had 11 steals for the Lions.

Mountain View 50, The Meadows 23 — At Mountain View, Briana Marruffo scored 21 points to help the Saints rout the Mustangs.

Rose Adkins added 12 points for Mountain View, which led 34-13 at the half.

Lake Mead 47, Laughlin 23 — At Lake Mead, Shannon Regan posted 15 points as the Eagles downed the Cougars.

Lincoln County 49, Pahranagat Valley 42 — At Alamo, Tia Florence tallied 17 points, and the Lynx used an 8-2 run to close the game and defeat the Panthers.

Nicole Florence added 14 points for Lincoln County.

Bailee Hosier paced Pahranagat Valley with 11 points. Halie Lewis added 10 points and eight rebounds, and Traci Strong scored 10 points for the Panthers.

Indian Springs 46, Agassi Prep 42 — At Agassi Prep, Alexxa Reinke scored 21 points as the Thunderbirds used a 17-5 fourth quarter run to edge the Stars.

Jada Smith had 15 points to lead Agassi Prep, which got 12 points from Noelle Chavis.

Beatty 77, Adelson School 8 — At Adelson School, Amber Ibarra scored 18 points, Ginny Cathcart had 17 points, and Melynda Gross added 14 points, as the Hornets routed the Lions.

Beaver Dam (Ariz.) 52, Oasis Christian 12 — At Oasis Christian, Nallely Murcuia scored 14 points as Beaver Dam rolled the Bulldogs.

Legacy and Canyon Springs couldn’t keep up in the Class 4A girls basketball state semifinals. The Southern Region representatives in 3A also were eliminated.
