ROUNDUP: Cruz, Cougar girls stun Liberty

Sofie Cruz tallied 14 points Tuesday as Coronado’s girls basketball team stunned host Liberty, 38-31.

Kealy Brown and Carli Smith each added seven points for the Cougars (16-8, 7-3 Southeast), who took over sole possession of third place in the Southeast League.

Alena Evans had 16 points for the Patriots (19-4, 8-2).

Del Sol 49, Tech 39 — At Del Sol, Desiree Orozco and Melissa DeSantiago each scored 13 points, and the Dragons built a 32-12 halftime lead before holding off the Roadrunners.

Rela Coleman added 10 points for Del Sol.

Kristena Wilson paced Tech with 15 points, and teammate Sabrina Sawyer scored 11.

Basic 59, Silverado 52 — At Silverado, Kailai Brantner scored 20 points, and Dana Deloney tallied 17 points as the Wolves nipped the Skyhawks.

Marissa Ross added 11 points for Basic, which led 34-21 at the half.

Brittany Loguidice led Silverado with 16 points. Jessica Meyers added 13 points, and Jasmyn Garcia scored 10 for the Skyhawks.

Foothill 71, Green Valley 28 — At Green Valley, Bri Higgins scored 14 points to pace a balanced attack as the Falcons soared to a win over the Gators.

Anaya Rodisha, Christina Nash and Tanji Ajeto each supplied 11 points for Foothill.

Jill Harland had eight points for Green Valley.

Calvary Chapel 45, Needles 42 — At Needles, Calif., Deja Harris had 11 points and 16 rebounds to help the Lions rally from a 38-33 deficit after three quarters and shock the Mustangs.

Lianne Reyes tallied 16 points, and Phallen Nelson supplied 10 points and 10 steals for Calvary Chapel.

Cheyanne Alexander scored nine points, and Holly Laswell had eight points for Needles.

Mountain View 47, The Meadows 39 — At The Meadows, Briana Marruffo scored 24 points to propel the Saints to a victory over the Mustangs.

Rose Adkins added 11 points for Mountain View.

MIssy Siegel led The Meadows with 17 points.

Lake Mead 53, Laughlin 42 — At Laughlin, Taylor Badua-Kono poured in 24 points, and the Eagles used a 19-7 third-quarter run to down the Cougars.

Megan Watkins added 13 points for Lake Mead.

Ruby Mackey and Destiney Anderson each had 11 points to lead Laughlin.
