ROUNDUP: Durango girls hold down second place in league with win

Jasmine Thomas scored 13 points Friday as Durango’s girls basketball team took over sole possession of second place in the Southwest League with a 47-36 win at Bonanza.

Cherelle Hicks added 11 points for the Trailblazers, which took a 17-8 halftime lead and improved to 5-1 in the Southwest. Bishop Gorman (6-0) leads the league.

Alice Pitts led Bonanza with 11 points. The Bengals fell to 4-1 in league play into a tie for third place with Sierra Vista.

Bishop Gorman 79, Clark 18 — At Clark, Zhane Dikes and Amber Lane each scored 15 points to help the Gaels blow past the Chargers.

April Rivers added 14 points for Gorman, which led 22-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Angelena Cook led Clark with five points.

Desert Oasis 44, Pahrump Valley 43 — At Pahrump, Tatiana Kearn had 10 points, including three 3-pointers in the first half, to help the Diamondbacks hold off the Trojans.

Auburn Smith also scored 10 points for Desert Oasis.

Alyson Kunzi had 26 points to lead Pahrump, which outscored Desert Oasis 17-10 in the fourth quarter in the narrow loss.

Western 57, Spring Valley 45 — At Western, Daresheoun Lee scored 28 points, and Michelle Simon added 15 points to lead the Warriors past the Grizzlies.

Jessica Davis led Spring Valley with 18 points.

Centennial 86, Cheyenne 37 — At Centennial, Alexis Byrd had 31 points and 10 steals as the Bulldogs cruised past the Desert Shields.

Courtney Hayes added 20 points and nine steals for Centennial, which jumped to a 20-6 first-quarter lead.

Shaunice Cameron scored eight points to lead Cheyenne.

Arbor View 45, Faith Lutheran 39 — At Arbor View, Jenna Valenzuela had 17 points to help the Aggies edge the Crusaders.

Ashley Dawkins added nine points for Arbor View, and Taylor Shields hit a pair of free throws to seal the victory in the final minute.

Joi Goynes scored nine points to lead Faith Lutheran, which led 25-24 at the end of the third quarter.

Mojave 47, Shadow Ridge 37 — At Mojave, Clarissa Cannon logged 17 points and 20 rebounds to lift the Rattlers past the Mustangs.

Jazzmine Robinson added 12 points and five assists for Mojave.

Elisha Hensey had 26 points to pace Shadow Ridge, which was unable to recover from a 31-15 halftime deficit.

Silverado 73, Del Sol 31 — At Silverado, Alena Evans scored 20 points and 11 rebounds and made all 12 of her free-throw attempts as the Skyhawks ran away from Del Sol.

Shea Collins added 19 points and eight assists, and Natalie Lainhart had 13 points and eight rebounds for Silverado.

Kim Chischillie led the Dragons with 15 points.

Liberty 59, Las Vegas 37 — At Las Vegas, Amanda Delgado scored 22 points, and the Patriots jumped out to a 21-5 first-quarter lead and cruised past the Wildcats.

Destiny Whitehead added 12 points for Liberty.

Shauntovia Luckie had 10 points for the Wildcats.

Basic 52, Virgin Valley 20 — At Basic, Noemi Hernandez scored 16 of her game-high 19 points in the third quarter, and Marquichea

Burns had 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Wolves past the Bulldogs.

Madison Bowler led Virgin Valley with 10 points.

Moapa Valley 39, Boulder City 32 — At Overton, Shilo Parashonts registered 13 points and nine rebounds to help the Pirates overcome an early 11-8 deficit and down the Eagles.

Caley Dunlap added 12 points for Moapa Valley.

Jessi Forrester led Boulder City with 13 points, and Paxton Fleming scored 12.

Needles 63, West Wendover 47 — At West Wendover, Alex Chandler had 17 points, and Gena Chavira had 11 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Mustangs past the Wolverines.

Miranda Brackett scored 13 points, and Kristen Arthur added 10 points for Needles.

Danika Sharp scored a game-high 40 points for West Wendover.

Lincoln County 74, Calvary Chapel 25  — At Calvary Chapel, Marissa Smerek had 14 points to help the Lynx rout the Lions.

Mary Culverwell added 13 points, and Natalie Florence scored 11 for Lincoln County, which led 27-3 after one quarter.

Anna Duerden paced Calvary Chapel with 15 points.

Mountain View 53, Agassi Prep 28 — At Mountain View, Patrice Marshall had 24 points and six steals as the Saints rolled past the Stars.

Alannah Conway led Agassi Prep with 14 points.

Lake Mead 55, Round Mountain 37 — At Lake Mead, the Eagles outscored the Knights 25-6 in the second quarter to take a commanding lead and cruise to the victory.

Emily Dean and Jordan Clarke each scored 14 points to lead Lake Mead.

Kattrena Akers led all scorers with 18 points for Round Mountain. 

Henderson International 30, Tonopah 27 — At Henderson International, Kerry Chang scored 12 points and had nine rebounds to lead the Wolverines past the Muckers.

Brittany Huff added 12 points for Henderson International.

White Pine 90, The Meadows 22 — At Ely, Kelsie Fullmer and Sammie Scott each scored 14 points, and the Bobcats bolted to leads of 34-6 after one quarter and 50-9 at the half and blew out the Mustangs.

Savannah Sturm led The Meadows with 18 points.
