ROUNDUP: Suarez’s clutch 3-pointer allows Mountain Lion girls to nip Longhorns

Jasmine Suarez scored 16 points, including a 3-pointer with less than a minute to play Thursday, to help Sierra Vista’s girls basketball team to a 50-48 win over visiting Legacy.

Melia Tadytin scored 16 points, and A’Yanna Johnson grabbed nine rebounds for the Mountain Lions.

Tori Payne scored 18 points, and Roberta Warren added 13 points for the Longhorns.

Foothill 61, Canyon Springs 53 — At Foothill, Julie Harless led a balanced scoring attack with 13 points, and the Falcons used a 21-14 final quarter to pull away from the Pioneers.

Anaya Rodisha scored 12 points, Christina Nash supplied 11 points, and Bre Higgins had seven points and 11 rebounds for Foothill.

Pearl Paulo scored 25 points, and Cherise Beynon had 10 points to lead Canyon Springs.

Green Valley 61, Las Vegas 51 — At Green Valley, Rianna Rudolph scored 10 points during a 15-3 third-quarter run to lead the Gators past the Wildcats.

Rudolph finished with 19 points, and Angelica Mack scored 16 for Green Valley, which also got 10 points from Maggie Manwarren.

Shomari Harris led the Wildcats with 25 points, and teammate Matti Ventling added 10 points.

Durango 46, Cimarron-Memorial 42 — At Durango, Jasmine Thomas scored 17 points as the Trailblazers downed the Spartans.

Brea Belser supplied nine rebounds and six steals for Durango.

Kiana Carter paced Cimarron with 13 points, and Briana Williams added 10 points for the Spartans.

Liberty 73, Desert Pines 20 — At Liberty, Alena Evans tallied 14 points and eight assists as the Patriots routed the Jaguars.

Meme Clark added 14 points for Liberty.

Cydney Myles paced Desert Pines with nine points.

Tech 58, Eldorado 31 — At Eldorado, Kristena Wilson poured in 28 points as the Roadrunners downed the Sundevils.

Clarissa Szluha added 10 points for the Roadrunners, who outscored Eldorado 32-9 in the second half.

Denisheun Jackson scored 16 points to lead Eldorado.

Coronado 67, Valley 29 — At Coronado, Sofie Cruz scored 17 points, and Aubre Fortner added 14 points as the Cougars routed the Vikings.

Tyricia Payne led the Vikings with 10 points.

Konawaena (Hawaii) 77, Bishop Gorman 61 — At Honolulu, Konawaena downed the Gaels in the opening round of the Iolani Classic.

Ashlee Mack had 19 points, and April Rivers scored 17 for Gorman.

Basic 63, Virgin Valley 50 — At Mesquite, Dana Deloney scored 10 of her 13 points during a game-clinching 27-12 fourth-quarter run as the Wolves rallied past the Bulldogs.

Kailai Brantner had 20 points, including eight in the fourth quarter, for Basic, and Shanice Valentine scored 10 for the Wolves.

Abbie Barnard led Virgin Valley with 18 points, and teammate Amanda Stenberg added 10 points.

Silverado 69, Moapa Valley 28 — At Silverado, Brittany Loguidice poured in 21 points, and the Skyhawks grabbed a 35-12 halftime lead on their way to a rout of the Pirates.

Jessica Meyers added 15 points for the Skyhawks.

Emily Mills led Moapa Valley with 10 points.

Reno 67, Faith Lutheran 35 — At Reno High, Shannon Gough scored 19 points, and the Huskies drained 12 3-pointers on their way to a win over the Crusaders in the High Sierra Winter Classic.

Kelsey McCourt led Faith Lutheran with seven points.

Whitney (Calif.) 59, Mountain View 25 — At Anaheim, Calif., Rachel Nagel tallied 17 points as Whitney topped the Saints in the Fairmont Prep Tournament.

Rose Atkins had eight points to lead Mountain View, which trailed 25-6 after one quarter.

Boulder City JV 33, The Meadows 23 — At Boulder City, the Eagles’ junior varsity downed The Meadows.

Missy Seigel had five points and 16 rebounds to lead the Mustangs.
