ROUNDUP: Walker’s 29 points help Desert Pines girls hold on for win

LaBrea Walker poured in 29 points Thursday to help Desert Pines’ girls basketball team eke out a 52-50 win at Las Vegas High.
The Jaguars led 7-2 after the first quarter and took a 36-27 lead into the fourth quarter.
Courtney Ladson paced the Wildcats with 16 points. Shomari Harris added 10 points for Las Vegas.
Canyon Springs 62, Valley 59 — At Valley, Bianca Johnson’s layup with 59 seconds left broke a 59-59 tie and lifted the Pioneers past Valley.
Kenosha Wright scored 15 points, and Faith Harper added 14 for Canyon Springs.
Christina Davis scored a game-high 20 points for Valley. Iris Barahona added 13 points for the Vikings.
Chaparral 42, Rancho 35 — At Chaparral, Octavia Gray scored 11 points to help the Cowboys hold off Rancho.
Maijah Williams led the Rams with 10 points.
Eldorado 43, Sunrise Mountain 33 — At Eldorado, Jeronica Jerkins and Abayomi Lyons supplied 10 points apiece as the Sundevils defeated Sunrise Mountain.
Elise Marshall scored 12 points and Tiara Veal added 10 for the Miners.
Bishop Gorman 67, Pahrump Valley 31 — At Gorman, April Rivers and Amber Lane each scored 21 points as the Gaels cruised past the Trojans after taking a 17-1 first-quarter lead.
Alyson Kunzi led Pahrump with 12 points.
Sierra Vista 75, Spring Valley 26 — At Spring Valley, Nicolette Grigsby scored 18 points to help the Mountain Lions rout the Grizzlies.
Johnie Pride scored 17 points, and Jeanette Jackson added 11 for Sierra Vista.
Meiko Taylor paced Sierra Vista with eight points.
Durango 37, Desert Oasis 33 — At Desert Oasis, Megan Tullis scored seven of her 12 points in the fourth quarter to lift the Trailblazers to the win.
Cherelle Hicks added 14 points for Durango.
Tatiana Kearn led Desert Oasis with 11 points.

Bonanza 50, Clark 41 —
 At Bonanza, Alex Duncan scored 18 points as Bonanza rallied from an early 10-6 deficit to turn back the Chargers.
Alice Pitts added 15 points for the Bengals.
Tarah Murph led Clark with 16 points, and Angelena Cook tallied 14.
Penrith (Australia) 57, Moapa Valley 32 — At Overton, Penrith completed a sweep of the Class 3A Southern League teams by downing the Pirates.
Caley Dunlap led Moapa Valley with 11 points.
