TARKANIAN GIRLS: Stanley, Gaels roll past Silverado in semifinals

Raychel Stanley had 20 points and nine rebounds Saturday as Bishop Gorman's girls basketball team beat Silverado 78-45 in the semifinals of the Tarkanian Classic at Desert Oasis.

Stanley had 14 points in the first half as Gorman sprinted to a 38-16 lead.

Megan Jacobs added 10 points, six rebounds and six assists, and Skylar Jackson had 10 points, five rebounds and three assists for the Gaels.

Gorman went on a 22-0 run in the first half to push its lead to 33-8. The Gaels face Campbell County (Wyo.) in the championship game at noon on Monday at Gorman. The Camels advanced with a 64-55 win over Rainier Beach (Wash.).

Madison Washington added 11 rebounds for Gorman, which held a 52-32 advantage on the boards.

Deja Siaki scored 15 of her 17 points in the second half to lead Silverado.

Desert Oasis 67, Durango 36 — Mikala Kirby had 24 points as the Diamondbacks rolled past the Trailblazers in the consolation bracket.

Sierra Mich'l had 11 points, and KePatriot Simpson scored 10 for Desert Oasis.

Brittany Romo paced Durango with 13 points.

Silverado 41, South Gate (Calif.) 33 — Siaki had 20 points to lead the Skyhawks over the Rams to move into the semifinals.

Lyric Knight added 10 points for Silverado.

Isabel Lizarraga led South Gate with 13 points.

Bishop Gorman 73, C.I. Gibson (Bahamas) 25 — Ciara Young had 11 points to help the Gaels rout the Rattlers.

Quinece Hatcher and Jackson each added 10 points for Gorman, which led 58-14 at the half.

Rainier Beach (Wash.) 58, Desert Oasis 52 — NiRae Petty scored 13 of her 17 points in the second half to help the Vikings rally to top the Diamondbacks.

Saniah Simpson-Patu led all scorers with 24 points for Rainier Beach, which trailed 27-19 at the half.

Simpson paced Desert Oasis with 15 points. Taryn Lampkin added 11 points for the Diamondbacks.

Campbell County (Wyo.) 68, Durango 17 — Macie Mackey and Brooke Cargal each scored 13 points as the Camels routed the Trailblazers.

Romo had nine points for Durango, which made just six field goals.
