Bishop Gorman drops to No. 12 in Super 25 ranking

After a second consecutive loss, Bishop Gorman’s football team dropped again in the USA Today Super 25 rankings. The Gaels fell to No. 12 in the expert rankings after a 24-20 loss to then No. 16 Miami Central, and are the only two-loss team in the top 25.

Gorman has a losing record for the first time since the first week of 2013 after losing the season opener, and is 1-2 for the first time since 2006.

The Gaels will host No. 6 De La Salle (California) on Saturday. The last time the two met, De La Salle won a home match up, 28-14 in 2010.

Miami Central bumped up to No. 7 after the victory. Mater Dei (California), which snapped Gorman’s 55-game winning streak in Week 2, remains No. 1.

DeMatha Catholic (Maryland), which fell to Gorman in Week 1, is ranked No. 15.
