Virgin Valley took advantage of three early miscues to sprint to a 26-7 first-quarter lead en route to a 52-7 road victory over Pahrump Valley on Friday.
The Bulldogs (3-1) recovered a botched kickoff at the Pahrump 3, and two plays later Richard Vidal scored on a 3-yard run. Less than three minutes later, the Trojans (0-3) fumbled the snap on a punt, giving the Bulldogs the ball at the Pahrump 35. That set up a 35-yard TD pass from Humberto Urias to Kyler Hughes.
Vidal added another 3-yard TD run before Pahrump’s Jonathan Mitchell scored on an 89-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to provide the lone score for the Trojans, who ran their losing streak to 21 consecutive games.
Urias added a 13-yard TD pass to Daniel Gleave and a 2-yard TD run in the first half as the Bulldogs took a 46-7 halftime advantage.
