Daxton Longman goes off to lead Moapa Valley past Utah school

Daxton Longman completed 16 of 31 passes for 358 yards and three touchdowns and added a score on the ground Friday to lead Moapa Valley’s football team to a 35-24 road win over Hurricane (Utah).

Derek Reese had seven catches for 227 yards and three scores, and Braeden St. John added 63 yards rushing, 36 yards receiving and a TD for Moapa Valley (2-0), which led 21-16 at halftime.

Colby Longman had an interception, and the Pirates defense recovered three fumbles, including second-half recoveries by Jesse Robison and Tyler Holmes.
