McClinton, Diamondbacks roll past Vikings

Desert Oasis' Ty'shun McClinton ran for 235 yards with three touchdowns on 22 carries as the Diamondbacks cruised to a 56-6 road victory over Valley on Friday.

McClinton had touchdown runs of 21, 15 and 50 yards.

Desert Oasis (4-1) racked up rushing 416 yards, 289 in the first half. Quarterback Brannon Flowers helped the total with 107 yards on four carries with touchdown runs of 58 and 33 yards. Marquis Smalls added a 27-yard touchdown run, on his only rush of the night.

With the score 20-0 late in the second quarter, Valley (0-4) was driving inside the Desert Oasis 30-yard line looking to get back in the game, but Branden Peterson picked off an Iyen Medlock pass over the middle to kill the nine-play drive. Flowers finished the drive two minutes later with a 33-yard run.

Medlock led Valley on the ground with 97 yards on 14 carries. He also threw for 130 yards with a 30-yard touchdown pass to Elliot Webb for Valley's lone score late in the fourth quarter.
