Patriots rally to top Gators
Third-ranked Liberty (5-1, 4-0 Southeast) scored 22 unanswered points in the final 13 minutes to rally for a 37-26 road victory over Green Valley (3-4, 1-2) on Friday.
Teu Tai had a 75-yard touchdown run with 49 seconds left in the third quarter to cut lead to 26-23. Niko Kapeli scored on runs of 3 and 20 yards in the fourth.
Kapeli rushed for 175 yards to lead Liberty, which gained 443 on the ground. Tai added 117 and Kai Nacua supplied 86 rushing and 119 passing.
Green Valley’s Paul McKay completed 17 of 34 passes for 347 yards.
He had four touchdown passes, but was intercepted four times. Joshua Lomax caught TD passes of 31 and 52 yards.
