Pioneers improve to 7-0 with rout of Valley

Zaviontay Stevenson rushed 15 times for 168 yards and a touchdown Friday to help Canyon Springs' football team to a 52-7 win at Valley.

No. 3 Canyon Springs (7-0, 3-0 Northeast League) scored 42 unanswered points after taking a 10-7 lead at halftime aided by three second-half turnovers, including Marcel Selmon’s two interceptions.

Bradley Alexander threw for 105 yards and a touchdown, and Jordan Davis threw two TD passes, including a 54-yard heave to Rashad Richy. Richy also scored on a 2-yard run.

Tyrone Prewitt totaled 211 yards of offense with a rushing touchdown but threw two interceptions for Valley (1-6, 0-3). Amari Cavillo-Tatum caught eight passes for 46 yards.
