Three quick scores lead Pioneers to easy win

Canyon Springs (1-2, 1-0 Northeast) scored three touchdowns in just over two minutes to seize control on the way o a 63-18 road win over Chaparral (0-3, 0-1) on Thursday.
Malik Brown’s 6-yard run ignited the burst by Canyon Springs. The Pioneers followed with consecutive interception returns by Corey Esco (35 yards) and Marquon Webster (25) for a 19-6 lead.
Donnel Pumphrey, who rushed for 198 yards, had 24 points for Canyon Springs. He scored on runs of 87 and 59 yards, caught a TD pass for 66 and kicked three PATs and a 26-yard field goal.
Chaparral tight end/linebacker Corey Hockin compiled 198 yards receiving and two touchdowns, and also returned an interception 51 yards for a touchdown.
