Trailblazers force six turnovers in win over Mustangs

Durango's Brett Neighbors tossed three touchdown passes, and the Trailblazers (5-4, 3-2 Northwest) forced six turnovers Thursday in a 34-21 road victory over Shadow Ridge (2-7, 2-3).

Arie McQuaig scored on a 10-yard pass from Neighbors that capped a 16 play, 64-yard opening drive for Durango. Anthony Collins pulled down a 20-yard TD pass from Neighbors at the end of the first quarter and scored again on a 48-yard reception on their following possession.

Marcus Sanders-Williams scored on a 14-yard TD run and Kameron Gillis returned an interception 75 yards for a touchdown as time expired in the second quarter to give the Trailblazers a 34-0 halftime lead.

Shadow Ridge scored three consecutive touchdowns to close the gap in the third quarter, but was unable to score again. Bakari Smith finished with 120 yards on 12 carries for the Mustangs.
