BOYS SOCCER: Steinke’s late goal gives Eagles win

Kurt Steinke scored the game-winning goal with five minutes remaining Monday as Boulder City’s boys soccer team nipped visiting Del Sol, 5-4.

Yann Moncayo finished with two goals and an assist for the Eagles. Nicholas Walker had a goal and two assists, and Victor Andrades chipped in a goal and an assist for Boulder City.

Luis Mendez scored two goals for Del Sol, which led 2-1 at halftime. Juan Sequeira and Johan Rodriguez had the Dragons’ other goals. Teammate Carlos Guevara added two assists.

Faith Lutheran 2, Shadow Ridge 2 — At Faith Lutheran, Randal Colquitt and Sean Kay scored second-half goals to rally the Crusaders to a tie with the Mustangs.

Tristan Tomburo assisted on both goals for Faith Lutheran.

Jacob Fisher scored for Shadow Ridge, which also benefited from an own goal.

Palo Verde 1, Valley 0 — At Palo Verde, Nolan Sherwood’s goal with 18 minutes left gave the Panthers a narrow win over the Vikings.

Nishesh Yadav made nine saves to earn the shutout for Palo Verde.

Centennial 2, Arbor View 0 — At Arbor View, Eric Sanchez scored twice in the final 20 minutes to lift the Bulldogs over the Aggies.

Centennial played the final 20 minutes with a man advantage after an Arbor View player received a red card.

Justin Anderson and Tanner Polley combined on the shutout.

Sunrise Mountain 3, Rancho 1 — At Rancho, Jose Paz scored two goals in a five-minute span in the second half to lead the Miners past the Rams.

Raciel Jimenez-Vazquez gave the Miners a 1-0 lead in the first half.

Rancho’s Jonathan Alcala scored seven minutes into the second half to tie the match before Paz scored twice.

Virgin Valley 9, The Meadows 0 — At The Meadows, Gabe Medina had four goals and an assist as the Bulldogs routed the Mustangs.

Moises Medina had two goals and two assists, and Sergio Pacheco also scored twice for Virgin Valley, which also got a goal from Rafael DeSantiago.

Domingo Ramirez and Geysson Murillo combined on the shutout for the Bulldogs.
