ROUNDUP: Badillo’s late goal keeps Cimarron’s playoff hopes alive

Bernardo Badillo scored his second goal of the match Tuesday with 30 seconds to play, saving Cimarron-Memorial’s boys soccer season and lifting the Spartans to a 4-3 win over Faith Lutheran at Kellogg-Zaher Park.
The Crusaders, who led 2-0 at the half but trailed 3-2 midway through the second half, tied the match on a penalty kick with two minutes remaining.
Cimarron came back down the field, and Pedro Carrera booted a ball deep into the Faith Lutheran penalty box. Badillo hopped on the free ball from six yards out and buried the winning shot.
The Spartans would have been eliminated from Sunset Region playoff contention with a tie, but instead kept their hopes alive and will qualify for the postseason with a home win over Mojave on Thursday.
Corey Ackley also scored twice for Cimarron, which got two assists from Gerardo Zacarias.
D’Khari Hicks, David Edson and Murad Ahmed each notched a goal for the Crusaders.
Palo Verde 3, Centennial 1 — At Palo Verde, Matej Kustura had a goal and an assist to help the Panthers hold off the Bulldogs.
Alexander Shackley also scored for Palo Verde, which benefited from an own goal.
Chance Rosa scored for Centennial.
Legacy 4, Shadow Ridge 0 — At Legacy, Luis Chaidez scored twice, and Ivan Sahugan had a goal and an assist as the Longhorns blanked the Mustangs.
Eric Bojado also scored for Legacy, which got two assists from Saul Aguirre.
Goalkeeper Gerardo Reynoso earned the shutout for the Longhorns.
Arbor View 3, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Nico Johnson scored twice to lead the Aggies past the Rattlers.
Brett Shapiro added a goal for Arbor View, which got the shutout with Christian Hallstrom in goal.
Western 6, Durango 1 — At Durango, Joshua Ballard tallied two goals and two assists, and Jonathan Sanchez added a goal and two assists to lead the Warriors past the Trailblazers.
Nelson Ponce also scored twice, and Armando Herrera had a goal for Western.
Meseret Peikie scored for Durango.
Clark 2, Sierra Vista 2 — At Sierra Vista, Leobardo Baltazar and Rey Saavedra each struck for a goal as the Chargers tied the Mountain Lions.
Milan Popovic and Jorge Echavarria scored for Sierra Vista.
Spring Valley 4, Desert Oasis 0 — At Spring Valley, Seth McGinn had two goals and an assist, and Ricky Gonzalez added a goal and two assists to help the Grizzlies cruise past the Diamondbacks.
Joachin Tayou also scored for Spring Valley.
Ben Thomas and Eddie Gomez combined on the shutout for the Grizzlies.
Boulder City 6, Moapa Valley 0 — At Boulder City, Trevor Montgomery notched two goals and two assists, and Peter Stanjordet added two goals to help the Eagles shut out the Pirates.
Daniel Andrades supplied a goal and an assist, and Ryan Warshefski also scored for Boulder City.
Richard Pappas picked up the shutout in goal for the Eagles.
The Meadows 3, Virgin Valley 3 — At Virgin Valley, William Lara scored twice, including the match-tying goal with one minute left on an assist from Tanner Tichenor, as the Bulldogs earned a tie with the Mustangs.
Danny Medina also scored for Virgin Valley.
Toby Warburton had two goals and an assist for The Meadows, which got a goal from Brandon Siow and two assists from Alex Karabachev.
GIRLS
Pahrump Valley 4, Virgin Valley 0 — At Pahrump Valley, Janet Garcia scored twice as the Trojans blanked the Bulldogs.
Brandi Monje and Leanne Morrow each added a goal for Pahrump Valley, which got a shutout from goalkeeper Dana Ayala.
