ROUNDUP: Velazquez gives Tech share of Southeast title on late PK

Oscar Velazquez converted a penalty kick with 10 minutes remaining in the match Monday as Tech’s boys soccer team wrapped up at least a share of the Southeast League title with a 1-0 win at Basic.
The Roadrunners (12-1-4, 10-1-2 Southeast) have a three-point lead over Coronado. Tech hosts the Cougars to close the regular season Wednesday.
Abdel Rodriguez made two saves to register the shutout.
Coronado 1, Del Sol 0 — At Coronado, the Cougars benefited from an own goal with 15 minutes left to edge the Dragons.
The Cougars scored when a throw-in was deflected into Del Sol’s goal.
Danny Sellitti made four saves to register the shutout for the Cougars, who ran their season-long unbeaten streak to 19 matches (12-0-7).
Foothill 1, Silverado 1 — At Silverado, Frankie Tumminello scored an unassisted goal with three minutes remaining to give the Falcons a tie with the Skyhawks.
Dakota Hallaway tallied Silverado’s goal.
Green Valley 2, Liberty 0 — At Liberty, Alejandro Pacheco notched two goals to lead the Gators past the Patriots.
Phillip McGovern made three saves to earn the shutout.
Valley 3, Eldorado 2 — At Valley, Eddie Flores, Tony Velazquez and Carlos Flores each scored a goal as the Vikings maintained their Northeast League lead by edging the Sundevils.
Julio Borjas had two assists for the Vikings (9-1-6, 8-0-5 Northeast), who carry a two-point lead over Desert Pines and a three-point margin over Las Vegas into Wednesday’s finale at Sunrise Mountain.
Luis Cruz and Jesse Marta scored for Eldorado.
Desert Pines 4, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Francisco Lopez tallied three goals, and Diego Sanchez added a goal as the Jaguars blanked the Miners.
Canyon Springs 2, Chaparral 0 — At Canyon Springs, Eric Ruiz recorded a goal and an assist in the Pioneers’ win over the Cowboys.
Tito Martinez also scored for Canyon Springs, which got a four-save shutout from Sixto Lucero.
Las Vegas 3, Rancho 0 — At Rancho, Eduardo Paz, Erick Fedde and Ruben Amezcua struck for a goal apiece as the Wildcats shut out the Rams.
Rogelio Zaragoza was in goal for Las Vegas.
GIRLS
Moapa Valley 0, Virgin Valley 0 — At Overton, the Pirates and Bulldogs battled to a scoreless draw.
Moapa Valley’s Kim Sprague recorded 14 saves.
Cassidy Crandall and Myrissa Bunker split time in goal for the Bulldogs.
