ROUNDUP: Western blitzes Desert Oasis to clinch playoff spot

Eduardo Hernandez scored two goals and dished out three assists Monday to help Western’s boys soccer team clinch a Sunset Region playoff berth with an 8-0 home win over Desert Oasis.
Luis Ponce added two goals for the Warriors. Bryan Mireles, Joshua Ballard, Abraham Navarro and Juan Medina also scored, while Navarro also added two assists.
Andres Rodriguez was in goal for the shutout.
Durango 2, Sierra Vista 1 — At Sierra Vista, Dylan Lindemann scored two goals, including the winner with 15 minutes remaining, as Durango nipped the Mountain Lions.
Milan Popovic scored for Sierra Vista.
Bonanza 1, Pahrump Valley 1 — At Pahrump, Bonanza’s Robby Sagel and the Trojans’ Bryce Moser each scored on a penalty kick in the first half as the teams played to a tie.
Arbor View 2, Palo Verde 2 — At Palo Verde, an own goal with just four minutes remaining in the match allowed Arbor View to earn a tie with the host Panthers.
Nico Johnson gave Arbor View a 1-0 lead in the first half.
Max Amster scored twice in the second half to give Palo Verde a 2-1 lead.
Cheyenne 2, Legacy 1 — At Cheyenne, Jose Orellana scored the match-winning goal and had an assist as the Desert Shields rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit.
Jackson Collins also scored for the Desert Shields.
Julio Uribe tallied Legacy’s goal.
Cimarron-Memorial 6, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Corey Ackley and Alexis Valencia each had a goal and two assists as Cimarron blitzed the Rattlers.
Ben Sweeney, Augustin Gamboa, Bobby Thompson and Eddie Granil also scored for the Spartans.
Pedro Carrera and Thompson combined on the shutout.
Faith Lutheran 2, Shadow Ridge 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Alex Gregoriev scored a pair of second-half goals to give the Crusaders the win over the Mustangs.
Goalkeeper Marc Davies had four saves in the shutout.
Boulder City 6, Moapa Valley 0 — At Overton, Zach Haley scored three goals as Boulder City locked up second place in the Class 3A Southern League with a shutout victory over the Pirates.
Lane Williams, Shawn Phelps and Garrett Andreis also scored for the Eagles, and Trevor Montgomery added three assists.
The Meadows 2, Adelson School 1 — At The Meadows, Adam DeJong scored two goals, including the winner midway through the second half, to lift the Mustangs past the Lions.
Gil Regiano scored the lone goal for Adelson.
Richard Pappas made five saves to earn the shutout.
Boulder City 5, Moapa Valley 0 — At Boulder City, the Eagles took a 2-0 halftime advantage and rolled to the victory.
Jen King, Tasja Toumasis, Carly Wiesenborn, Isabella Barbieri and Ashylyn Jorgensen each had a goal for Boulder City.
Mikaela Stevens and Melissa Stewart combined for the shutout.
Virgin Valley 5, Adelson School 1 — At Adelson School, Alex Zarndt had two goals and an assist to lead the Bulldogs past the Lions.
Hailey Jones, Kiera Ogden and Karen Dorado each scored a goal for Virgin Valley.
Sueleika Blackwell tallied the lone goal for Adelson School.

Sergio Aguayo scored three goals — part of a stretch of four Las Vegas tallies in eight minutes — as the Wildcats defeated Coronado 5-1 to win the Class 4A state boys soccer championship at Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex.

3A boys: Western caps season with first state championship

The Warriors regrouped after a stagnant first half to score three goals in a 25-minute span en route to their first boys soccer state championship at the Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex.

4A boys: Las Vegas, Coronado to meet for state soccer title

Rigo Carrasco scored in the second minute, and Las Vegas High added three second-half goals to run away from Durango 4-0 Friday night in the Class 4A boys state soccer semifinals.

3A boys: Western recovers to beat Sparks in double overtime

Mauricio Muniz took a pass down the left sideline, made a move past a Sparks defender and converted a goal from about 25 yards in the second overtime, giving the Warriors a 3-2 victory in the Class 3A state semifinals at Bettye Wilson Park.
