Coronado girls soccer forfeits seven non-league matches

Coronado’s girls soccer team forfeited seven non-league matches on Monday, the Clark County School District’s athletic office said.

An official reason was not given for the forfeits.

The Cougars, who were set to enter the Sunrise Region tournament with an 18-0-1 overall record, forfeited four matches in the Las Vegas Kickoff Tournament and three other non-league matches. All seven matches were played from Sept. 2-17.

The Cougars forfeited a tie match against Faith Lutheran and wins over Centennial, Palo Verde, Green Valley, Las Vegas, Legacy and Silverado.

The forfeits did not affect Coronado’s league matches or any of the seedings for any region tournaments. Coronado (12-7) will begin postseason play at 6 p.m. Tuesday against Liberty at Heritage Park.
