GIRLS SOCCER: Wood’s late goal allows Diamondbacks to surprise Palo Verde

Ashley Wood’s goal with one minute left in the match Friday propelled Desert Oasis’ girls soccer team to a 1-0 win at Palo Verde.

Miah Strellnauer assisted on the goal.

Kelsey LeBoeuf and Kylee Bauer shared time in goal and combined on the shutout.

Faith Lutheran 1, Western 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Megan Sonerholm scored off an assist from sister Madison Sonerholm with one minute remaining to lift the Crusaders by the Warriors.

Beka Lescenski made six saves en route to the shutout.

Rancho 4, Las Vegas 4 — At Rancho, Faith White converted a penalty kick with four minutes left to allow the Rams to rally for a tie with the Wildcats.

White and Saippress Jones each scored twice, and Iris Martinez had two assists for Rancho.

Alyssa Mireles, Deisy Lopez, Taylor Stonebarger and Osmara Nunez-Barrera scored for Las Vegas.

Virgin Valley 2, Chaparral 0 — At Mesquite, Marlene Quirarte and Karla Correa each scored a first-half goal to lift the Bulldogs by the Cowboys.

Spencer Green made four saves to earn the shutout.

Coronado 5, Centennial 2 — At Centennial, Carli Young and Olivia Meza each scored twice to lead the Cougars by the Bulldogs.

Taylor Kornieck added a goal for Coronado, which led 4-0 at halftime.

Marcella Brooks and McKenna Stratton scored for Centennial.

Sunrise Mountain 4, Boulder City 1 — At Boulder City, Miriam Galvez had two goals and an assist to lead the Miners by the Eagles.

Brisa Pena-Martinez added a goal and an assist, and Briana Torres scored for Sunrise Mountain.

Lauren Mullins scored for Boulder City.

Tech 6, Moapa Valley 0 — At Tech, Alysia Mestas scored three goals, and Melissa Lopez added two goals and an assist as the Roadrunners routed the Pirates.

Valerie Webb scored a goal, and Veronica Gonzales had two assists for Tech.

Estephania Perez and Lisette Sanchez combined on the shutout.

Cimarron-Memorial 7, Canyon Springs 1 — At Cimarron, Natasha Martin had three goals and an assist, and Jenny Acevedo added a goal and three assists as the Spartans routed the Pioneers.

Annalise Esparza added two goals, and Nancy DeLaTorre scored once for Cimarron, which got two assists from Jazmin Centeno.

Paulina Salazar scored for Canyon Springs.

Green Valley 7, Durango 0 — At Green Valley, Alexis Kirson had five goals and an assist as the Gators rolled by the Trailblazers.

Emily Ezelle and Carli Perkins also scored for Green Valley.

Ryan Sabol made three saves en route to the shutout.

Desert Pines 8, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, Lizuly Mireles scored five goals as the Jaguars rolled past the Dragons.

Maria Gaeta scored twice, and Jennifer Ramirez had one goal for Desert Pines.

Maribel Mejia was credited with the shutout.

Mojave at Pahrump Valley — The scheduled match between Mojave and Pahrump was not played as the Rattlers never arrived at the Trojans’ field.
