Minerva Massis scored twice in the second half Wednesday to break a 1-1 halftime draw and lift Liberty’s girls soccer team to a season-opening 3-1 home win over Valley.
Tori White scored in the first half for the Patriots.
Amanda Lopez tallied the Vikings’ lone goal.
Western 3, Cheyenne 1 — At Western, Erika Reynada scored twice as the Warriors topped Cheyenne.
Maria Ramirez added a goal for Western, which picked up three assists from Carmen Ramirez.
Siena Azzari scored for the Desert Shields.
Arbor View 0, Coronado 0 — At Coronado, Arbor View goalkeeper Alex Luevano and Coronado keeper Kaitlyn Farner each made four saves to post shutouts as the Aggies and Cougars played to a scoreless tie.
