Jacob Heese was 11-for-11 from the free-throw line and scored 26 points Friday to lead the Desert Oasis boys basketball team to an 84-78 road win over Sierra Vista.
Las Vegas High’s flag football team scored 20 unanswered points in the second half to rally for a 27-20 win at Foothill on Thursday.
Shania Harper had 14 points and 16 rebounds to power Sierra Vista’s girls basketball team to a 60-52 home win over Canyon Springs on Monday.
Marvin Coleman had 27 points on Monday to lead Foothill’s boys basketball team to a 95-84 road victory over the Diamondbacks.
Dejonte Allen’s put-back at the buzzer lifted Chaparral’s boys basketball team to a 61-59 victory over visiting Basic on Thursday.
Spring Valley’s girls basketball team took the lead with 46 seconds to play on Thursday and held on for a 47-45 win over Regis Jesuit (Colorado) in the La Jolla (California) Sweet 16 Tournament.
Anthony Jaramillo scored 20 points, including four 3-pointers, to power Shadow Ridge’s boys basketball team to a 63-53 road victory over Mojave on Tuesday.
Kayla Proctor scored a game-high 16 points as Faith Lutheran’s girls basketball team closed the game on a 12-2 run to earn a 64-59 home win over Sierra Vista on Tuesday.
Joel Sancheza scored three goals, including two in the first half, to lead the Jaguars to a 4-1 win over the Dragons.
Pahrump Valley senior Bryce Odegard finished the 3.1-mile race in 17 minutes, 36 seconds on Friday to capture his second consecutive individual region cross country title and lead the Trojans to the team title with 39 points.
Arbor View’s Keith Williams led at the front of a pack of five runners early. Eventually, he managed to hold off PahrumpValley’s Bryce Odegard and Centennial’s Alexander Miller in the final quarter mile, putting in a good finishing kick to cross the line in 16 minutes and 13 seconds.
