SOFTBALL: Davis hits go-ahead double late as Spartans down Trailblazers

Cierra Davis doubled home the go-ahead run in the top of the fifth inning, and Cimarron-Memorial’s softball team rallied for a 6-4 victory over host Durango on Wednesday.

Rheanna Esparza hit a solo home run for Cimarron, which scored three runs in the fifth to erase a 4-3 Durango lead. Winning pitcher Rosie Del Rosario went the distance and also had a double.

Kaitlyn O’Hearn and Alia Armstrong each had a double for the Trailblazers.

Arbor View 7, Desert Oasis 2 — At Desert Oasis, Kellie Anderson was 3-for-5 with two RBIs to help the Aggies top the Diamondbacks.

Kayla Stephens was 3-for-4 with an RBI for Arbor View, and teammate Brittany Henricksen went 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs. Winning pitcher Breanne Henricksen was 2-for-4 with two runs for the Aggies.

Mary Dungey went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple and two runs for Desert Oasis.

Centennial 16, Bonanza 0 — At Centennial, Cheyenne Cudahy tossed a one-hitter with nine strikeouts, and Kara Simpson and Hannah Jones each hit a three-run homer as the Bulldogs routed the Bengals in five innings.

Simpson and Jones finished with four RBIs apiece. Kiana Tate and Jaden Tate both had three hits for the Bulldogs, who scored 12 runs in the first two innings.

Centennial’s Stephanie Day and Sonja Lawrence each added two hits and two RBIs.

Alexis Owensby had Bonanza’s lone hit, a single in the first inning.

Green Valley 14, Eldorado 0 — At Green Valley, Italia Reinoehl had two home runs, four RBIs and three runs to power the Gators past the Sundevils in five innings.

Tara Hilton went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and three RBIs, and Gennie Simington added three hits for Green Valley, which also got doubles from Jinger Meuir and Jacqueline Smith.

Jazmine Sorchini went 1-for-2 with a walk for Eldorado, which had only three hits.

Foothill 7, Basic 6 — At Basic, Alexia Campbell doubled, tripled, scored twice and drove in two runs, and Kylie Becker had a double and two RBIs as the Falcons edged the Wolves.

Foothill trailed 4-2 after two innings, but went ahead 7-5 with two runs in the top of the fourth.

Rebecca Pullen was 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, two runs and an RBI, and Bailey Cunanan went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs for Basic.

Sierra Vista 18, Clark 0 — At Clark, Harmony Dominguez went 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs and combined with winning pitcher Kalei Watkins on a no-hitter as the Mountain Lions blanked the Chargers in five innings.

Watkins struck out nine in four innings of work and also had a double. Adrianna Somerville went 4-for-5, and Alyssa Lewis had a double and three RBIs for Sierra Vista.

Spring Valley 13, Western 1 — At Spring Valley, Ellie Endsley went 4-for-4 with a double, three triples and five RBIs as the Grizzlies beat the Warriors in five innings.

Kelsey Adams went 3-for-3 with a double, and Mariah Ward added a triple and two RBIs for Spring Valley.

Ward also went the distance, throwing a one-hitter with three strikeouts, to get the win.

Lita Maeoki tripled and scored in the fifth inning for Western.

Faith Lutheran 5, Cheyenne 1 — At Faith Lutheran, Makena Martin went 6 2/3 innings without allowing a hit and finished with 11 strikeouts as the Crusaders defeated the Desert Shields.

Alexis Gojkovich singled with two outs in the top of the seventh inning for Cheyenne’s lone hit. Martin walked two and also hit a batter.

Mosie Foley was 2-for-2 with an RBI for Faith Lutheran, which got a run-scoring double from Cheyenne Kidd.

Pahrump Valley 17, Mojave 2 — At Mojave, the Trojans took advantage of 17 errors by Mojave and scored 11 runs in the fifth inning to down the Rattlers.

Winning pitcher Amanda Pryor tossed three hitless innings and had two hits, an RBI and a walk.

Jill Smith supplied two hits, two RBIs and a run for Pahrump Valley.

Abigail Childers smacked a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth to account for Mojave’s runs.

Maranatha (Calif.) 16-25, Mountain View 0-7 — At Mountain View, the Minutemen swept a pair of five-inning games from the Saints.

In the nightcap, Elle Germany had a triple and three RBIs for Mountain View, which also got an RBI double from Savannah Alley.

The Saints were no-hit in the opener.
