SOFTBALL: Hall’s perfect day helps Desert Oasis hold off Mountain Lions

 

Mallory Hall went 5-for-5 with a double and an RBI on Saturday to help Desert Oasis’ softball team hold on for a 10-8 win at Sierra Vista.

Winning pitcher Shonda Badayos went 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs to help the Diamondbacks take a 10-3 lead into the bottom of the seventh inning.

The Mountain Lions had the potential tying runs in scoring position when a fly ball to center field ended the game.

Alyssa Santiago was 3-for-4 with two triples and two RBIs, and C.J. Wilson went 2-for-4 with two triples and two RBIs for Desert Oasis.

Brendee Ford was 2-for-4 with a triple, and Angel Love and Kira Felise each went 2-for-4 with a double for Sierra Vista.

Coronado 13, Boulder City 0 — At Coronado, Danielle Amato went 3-for-3 with a home run, a triple, a double and four RBIs and tossed a five-inning four-hitter with nine strikeouts as the Cougars routed the Eagles.

Haley Harrison was 4-for-4 with a triple, a double and two RBIs, and Jaiden Johnson was 3-for-3 with a triple, a double and an RBI for Coronado.

Makenzy Waldo and Mikaela Brown each went 2-for-2 for Boulder City.

Palo Verde 9, Canyon View (Utah) 3 — At Palo Verde, Breanna Beatty went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBIs to help the Panthers top the Falcons.

Rachel Williams tossed a five-hitter with seven strikeouts and went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and teammate Brooke Stover was 1-for-4 with a double and three RBIs for Palo Verde.
