SOFTBALL: Pochop fans 15, guides Rams by Silverado

Samantha Pochop threw a three-hitter with 15 strikeouts as the Rancho softball team beat visiting Silverado 3-0 on Monday.

McKinzi Vega went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI for the Rams, and teammate Gianna Carosone went 2-for-3.

Silverado’s Hanna McCall gave up two earned runs on six hits.

Green Valley 4, Liberty 3 — At Green Valley, Italia Reinoehl went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and four RBIs to power the Gators over the Wolves.

Samantha Loving threw a complete game for Green Valley, striking out four and walking one. Loving also went 2-for-2 with a double.

McKenna Hefley went 3-for-3 with a double for Liberty.

Cimarron-Memorial 12, Basic 3 — At Basic, Rosie Del Rosario went the distance and struck out 10 and smacked two home runs to lead the Spartans over the Wolves.

Del Rosario finished 3-for-5 with five RBIs. Carmen Hasbrouck was 2-for-5 with a double, and Cierra Davis went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer for Cimarron, which scored eight runs in the fifth to break a 2-2 tie.

Las Vegas 10, Eldorado 6 — At Eldorado, Marico Davis was 5-for-5 with a home run and five RBIs to lead the Wildcats past the Sundevils.

Samantha Taylor went 3-for-4 and picked up the win in relief for Las Vegas, which outhit Eldorado 15-2.

Western 11, Chaparral 1 — At Western, the Warriors scored seven runs in the third inning en route to the five-inning win.

Lita Maeoki allowed two hits and struck out five in four innings to get the win. She also went 2-for-3 with a home run. Western’s Jennessa Duncan went 2-for-4 with a double, and teammate Alexis Maeoki was 2-for-4.

Palo Verde 14, Bonanza 0 — At Bonanza, Kelsea Sweeney and Haylee Lupinetti combined on a one-hitter as the Panthers routed the Bengals.

Sweeney started and allowed the only hit in two innings of work. She struck out six. Lupinetti tossed three hitless innings with two strikeouts.

Cara Beatty was 2-for-2 with two RBIs, and Kiley Harrison was 2-for-2 for Bonanza.

Foothill 10, Valley 1 — At Foothill, Kylie Becker went 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs to lead the Falcons over the Vikings.

Sarah Maddox added a triple and an RBI for Foothill, which had 14 hits.

Sadie Christian and Kayla King combined on a three-hitter for the Falcons.

Coronado 14, Canyon Springs 0 — At Coronado, Tatum Spangler threw a two-hitter with nine strikeouts to help the Cougars to the five-inning win over the Pioneers.

Basia Query was 3-for-3 with a double, triple and two RBIs, and Dylan Underwood went 4-for-4 with two doubles for Coronado.

Pahrump Valley 15-13, Virgin Valley 5-3 — At Pahrump, the Trojans swept the Bulldogs.

Sidney Keis and Jill Smith each hit a three-run home run to lead Pahrump in the first game.

Amaya Mendoza went the distance in the second game to get the win.
