ROUNDUP: Leon, Miners win three-team meet

Adair Leon won the 200-yard freestyle in 2 minutes, 34.49 seconds and the 500 freestyle in 7:13.19 on Thursday to lead Sunrise Mountain’s boys swimming team to victory in a three-team meet at Municipal.

The Miners had 103 points. Virgin Valley was second at 94, followed by Moapa Valley with 33.

Virgin Valley’s Nick White won the 50 freestyle (25.28) and 100 freestyle (59.57), and teammate Ramsey Draskovich took the 100 breaststroke (1:16.36) and 200 individual medley (2:34.21).

Arbor View 131, Durango 114 — At Pavilion, Tanner Franks won the 100 breaststroke in 1:16.24 and the 200 individual medley in 2:25.77 to help the Aggies top the Trailblazers.

Durango's Nicholas McDowell won the 100 butterfly in 57.15 and the 100 backstroke in 59.18.

Shadow Ridge 148, Spring Valley 100 — At Pavilion, the Mustangs used their depth to overcome the Grizzlies.

Spring Valley's Nicholas Cabalo won the 100 freestyle in 55.9 and the 200 individual medley in 2:10.65.

Faith Lutheran 157, Western 72 — At Pavilion, Domenic Devore and Bowen Becker each won two individual events as the Crusaders topped the Warriors.

Devore won the 200 freestyle in 2:33.29 and the 100 backstroke in 1:17.75, and Becker took the 50 freestyle (23.18) and 100 butterfly (58.5)

Western's Halim Koljenovic won the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.59 and the 200 individual medley in 2:15.49.

Mojave 100, Adelson School 48 — At Pavilion, the Rattlers posted a win over the Lions.

Adelson's Dominic Bembenek won the 100 freestyle in 59.27 and the 100 backstroke in 1:25.18.

Clark 151, Cheyenne 113 — At Municipal, the Chargers downed the Desert Shields.

Cheyenne's Morgan Thompson claimed the 100 butterfly in 58.84, and the 500 freestyle in 5:13.05, and teammate Brice Babcock took the 50 freestyle in 28.6 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:17.44.

Tech 107, Desert Pines 73 — At Municipal, Bradley Frakes and Xavier Villalobos each captured two events to lead the Roadrunners by the Jaguars.

Frakes won the 100 butterfly in 1:07.42 and the 200 freestyle in 2:14.3, and Villalobos took the 50 freestyle in 27.14 and the 100 freestyle in 1:01.58.

GIRLS

Sunrise Mountain 107, Virgin Valley 83, Moapa Valley 37 — At Municipal, the Miners won three events to capture the three-team meet.

Virgin Valley’s Melissa Guthrie won the 100 backstroke (1:23.52) and 200 individual medley (3:03.68).

Arbor View 195, Durango 58 — At Pavilion, Shaelynne Meals-McGhee took the 100 butterfly in 1:10.68 and the 200 freestyle in 2:16.53 to help the Aggies swim by the Trailblazers.

Shadow Ridge 157 1/2, Spring Valley 89 1/2 — At Pavilion, Caroline Brereton was first in the 50 freestyle (27.33) and the 100 butterfly (1:12.24) to help the Mustangs top the Grizzlies.

Spring Valley's Katelyn Faulk won the 100 (1:06.83) and 200 freestyles (2:26.8).

Green Valley 178, Canyon Springs 56 — At Pavilion, Smaranda Georgescu, Brenna Thornley and Brooke Ivey each won twice as the Gators dowed the Pioneers.

Georgescu won the 50 (25.55) and 100 freestyles (55.25). Thornley took the 100 butterfly (1:08.96) and 200 individual medley (2:28.39), and Ivey claimed the 100 backstroke (1:03.88) and 200 freestyle (2:03.91)

Faith Lutheran 173, Western 70 — At Pavilion, the Crusaders defeated the Warriors.

Western's Nadira Koljenovic won the 100 butterfly in 1:12.23 and the 200 freestyle in 2:19.56.

Adelson School 110, Mojave 75 — At Pavilion, Camryn Armstrong and Michelle Aizenberg each won twice to lift the Lions by the Rattlers.

Armstrong took the 100 freestyle in 1:07.59 and the 100 backstroke in 1:21, and Aizenberg claimed the 100 breaststroke in 1:29.55 and the 200 individual medley in 2:53.28.

Clark 204, Cheyenne 60 — At Municipal, Jayla Thirtyacre won the 100 breaststroke in 1:20.82 and the 500 freestyle in 6:31.46, and Samantha Freeman took the 100 freestyle (1:03.01) and the 200 individual medley (2:36.06) as the Chargers pulled away from the Desert Shields.

Tech 172, Desert Pines 79 — At Municipal, Gabby Spendlove and Haylee Holsclaw each won twice to key the Roadrunners' victory over the Jaguars.

Spendlove took the 200 (2:36.57) and 500 freestyles (7:04.15), and Holsclaw won the 100 backstroke (1:24.55) and 200 individual medley (3:11.01).

Desert Pines' Becca Hernandez won the 100 freestyle in 1:11.97 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:36.19.
