ROUNDUP: Tollen, Thornley power Coronado boys to pair of wins

Trent Tollen and Justin Thornley each won two individual events Saturday as Coronado’s boys swimming team posted a 198-50 win over Del Sol and a 192-96 victory over Tech at Multi-Generational.

Tollen took the 50-yard freestyle in 25.19 seconds and the 100 freestyle in 56.0.

Thornley captured the 500 freestyle in 5:16.96 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.81.

Foothill 229, Liberty 55 — At Multi-Generational, Daniel Crosby won the 200 freestyle in 2:35.78 and the 200 individual medley in 2:40.18 as the Falcons downed the Patriots.

Valley 129, Virgin Valley 68 — At Multi-Generational, the Vikings swept all three relay events and won nine of the 12 events overall en route to a win over the Bulldogs.

Basic 150, Las Vegas 97 — At Multi-Generational, the Wolves had five swimmers each win an individual event and used their depth to overcome the Wildcats.

Las Vegas’ Paulo Almeida won the 200 freestyle in 2:17.62 and the 500 freestyle in 6:38.18.

Green Valley 169, Silverado 100 — At Multi-Generational, Thomas Meek and Robert Hommel each took two individual events to lift the Gators past the Skyhawks.

Hommel won the 100 freestyle in 47.78 and the 200 individual medley in 1:58.84. Meek took the 200 freestyle in 1:51.45 and the 100 butterfly in 57.25.

Moapa Vallley 58, Chaparral 46 — At Multi-Generational, the Pirates claimed both of the contested relay events to hold off the Cowboys.

Chaparral’s Connor Kaasel took the 50 freestyle in 27.7 and 100 freestyle in 1:05.01, and teammate Justin Dean won the 500 freestyle (6:38.43) and 100 backstroke (1:16.34).

Cimarron-Memorial 171, Shadow Ridge 112 — At Desert Breeze, Charles Bernardino, Chang Lin and McKay Prestwich each won twice to help the Spartans down the Mustangs.

Bernardino took the 50 freestyle (26.25) and 100 freestyle (59.31). Lin captured the 200 freestyle (1:52.75) and 500 freestyle (5:14.12), and Prestwich won the 100 backstroke in 1:04.31 and the 200 individual medley in 2:15.03.

Arbor View 153, Centennial 135 — At Desert Breeze, the Aggies swept the relays to down the Bulldogs.

Centennial’s Trevor Pollum won the 200 freestyle (2:00.6) and 500 freestyle (5:42.47).

Boulder City 175, Palo Verde 118 — At Pavilion, Andrew Peterson and Cody Molisee each won two events as the Eagles beat the Panthers.

Peterson won the 200 individual medley (2:00.37) and 500 freestyle (4:55.2). Molisee was first in the 50 freestyle (22.44) and 100 freestyle (50.21).

Bonanza 160, Desert Oasis 119 — At Pavilion, Zach Sassler and Gavin Owen each won two events as the Bengals topped the Diamondbacks.

Sassler took the 200 freestyle (2:12.63) and 100 backstroke (1:05.17), and Owen was first in the 200 individual medley (2:35.49) and 500 freestyle (6:18.79).

Sunrise Mountain 111, Western 47 — At Desert Breeze, the Miners won the two contested relays to top the Warriors.
