ROUNDUP: Spartan Cup singles semifinals set
Semifinal singles pairings are set for Saturday in the Spartan Cup tennis tournament at Cimarron-Memorial.
In boys action, Centennial’s Travis Beck meets Clark’s Richard Lee in one semifinal of the Spartan Bracket. Clark’s Bobby Ou and Cimarron’s Aaron Bowers meet in the other semifinal.
In the Athens Bracket, Cimarron’s Tanner Maxwell will face Western’s Tyler Smith, and Durango’s Josh Maury will take on Cimarron’s Greg Madsen.
In the Troy Bracket, Cimarron’s Mauricio Salazar will play Western’s Braeden Smith, and Cimarron teammates Brian Grupe and Braydon Egbert will meet.
In the Roman Bracket, Cimarron’s Drew Danzeisen will meet Western’s Wesley Holtz.
In girls action, Cimarron’s Starlyn Thomas will take on Shadow Ridge’s Kylee Racel in one semifinal of the Spartan Bracket, with Cimarron teammates Natasha Tocco and Kimberly Sanchez squaring off in the other semifinal.
In the Athens Bracket, Bonanza’s Julie Speraw will meet Shadow Ridge’s Jamie Andrade. Centennial’s Natalie Tinkney also advanced.
Play resumes Saturday at 7 a.m. with doubles qualifiers. Doubles semifinals are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. with the finals set for 4:45 p.m.
Boys singles semifinals are set for 8 a.m. with the finals at 1:15 p.m.
Girls singles semifinals will take place at 9:45 a.m. with the finals set for 3 p.m.
