SUNRISE REGION: Castronova, Lopez sweep as Foothill boys cruise past Cowboys

Andreis Castronova and Israel Lopez were 3-0 in doubles play Monday as Foothill’s boys tennis team collected a 16-2 win at Chaparral in a Sunrise Region quarterfinal to help the Falcons (9-5) eliminate the Cowboys (8-4).

Nick Stoker and Avery Burton were 2-0 in doubles for Foothill (9-5), which will visit Coronado in a semifinal on Wednesday.

Dylan Mauceri and Edgar Munoz claimed a 2-1 finish in doubles for Chaparral (8-4).

Coronado 18, Eldorado 0 — At Coronado, Sam Cohen was 2-0 in singles as the Cougars (11-1) blanked the Sundevils (6-8).

Green Valley 10, Valley 9 — At Green Valley, the Gators (10-2) edged the Vikings (9-3) by winning four of the six tiebreaker games after the teams split the 18 regulation sets.

Green Valley will visit Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Las Vegas 10, Liberty 8 — At Las Vegas, Andre Walls was 3-0 in singles, and teammate Juan Garcia went 2-1 in singles as the Wildcats (10-2) edged the Patriots (8-4).

Gil Lim went 2-1 in singles for Liberty.

Clark rolled to a 14-4 victory over Reno in the state semifinals at Bishop Mangoue on Thursday to set up a rematch with the two-time defending state champion Panthers, who beat Coronado, 11-7, in the other semifinal.
