GIRLS TENNIS: Gators top Patriots, advance to Sunrise final

Josie Legarza and Racquel Holder each went 3-0 in singles Wednesday to help Green Valley’s girls tennis team to an 11-7 win over visiting Liberty in a Sunrise Region semifinal.

The Gators (13-0) will meet Coronado (11-4) for the region crown at 2 p.m. Saturday at Darling Tennis Center.

Katerina Singh and Payton Burk were 3-0 in doubles for the Patriots (12-2).

Coronado 16, Eldorado 2 — At Coronado, Lauren Coons was 3-0 in singles to help the Cougars eliminate the Sundevils (10-6) in a region semifinal.

Constanza Perkins and Samantha Ross were 3-0 in doubles for Coronado.

SUNSET REGION

Palo Verde 16, Bonanza 2 — At Palo Verde, Annie Walker and Abby Lewis each went 2-0 in singles as the Panthers (14-0) routed the Bengals (11-4) in a region semifinal.

Kristen Newell and Madison Waid were 1-0 in doubles for Palo Verde, which led 12-0 after two rounds. The Panthers will face Bishop Gorman (14-0) for the region title at 8 a.m. Saturday at Darling Tennis Center.

Bishop Gorman 16, Centennial 2 — At Gorman, Stephanie Ingaramo and Sadie Klassen were 3-0 in doubles to help the Gaels eliminate the Bulldogs (7-6) in a region semifinal.

Chelsea Crovetti was 2-0 in singles for Gorman.

DIVISION I-A SOUTHERN REGION

Faitth Lutheran 14, Boulder City 4 — At Boulder City, Madison Foley went 3-0 in singles to help the Crusaders (16-3) eliminate the Eagles (13-1) in a region semifinal.

The doubles teams of Rachel Taber and Chandler Young, and Jordan Harmonay and Michelle Reiss each went 2-0 for Faith Lutheran, which will face The Meadows (14-1) for the regional title at 2 p.m. Friday at Darling Tennis Center.

The Meadows 12, Clark 4 — At The Meadows, Anuja Daulat and Anjali Daulat each went 3-0 in singles to help the Mustangs advance in a match that was halted in the final round due to rain.

Abbey Escala and Paige Smith were 2-0 in doubles for the Chargers (9-5).
