Boulder City’s boys claim Meadows Invite title

Joe Woodbury captured two individual events Saturday to lead Boulder City’s boys track team to victory at The Meadows Invitational.

Boulder City had 171 points, easily outdistancing second-place Pahrump Valley, which had 107. Durango was third with 95½, followed by Spring Mountain with 91.

Woodbury won the 100-meter dash in 11.29 seconds and the 200 in 22.93.

Pahrump’s Nick Stearns won three individual events, taking the 110 hurdles in 14.96, the 300 hurdles in 40.99 and the pole vault by clearing 15 feet, 3 inches.

Clark’s Basabose Bahati took the 1,600 in 4:33.61 and the 3,200 in 9:57.54.

In the girls meet, Faith Lutheran used its depth to capture the team title with 96½ points. Durango and Boulder City tied for second with 85.33 points, and Laughlin was fourth with 84.

Durango’s Tiarra Beville won the long jump at 17-6¾, the high jump at 4-10 and the triple jump with an effort of 32-11.

Pahrump’s Megan Hamrick took the shot put with a mark of 33-8 and the discus at 100-6.
