Woodbury powers Boulder City to Bushman Invite title

Joe Woodbury won two events and added a second-place finish Friday to lead Boulder City’s boys track team to the championship at the Grant Bushman Invitational at Moapa Valley.

Woodbury took the 200-meter dash in 22.97 seconds, won the 110 hurdles in 16.24 seconds, and was second in the 400 in 50.99 seconds.

The Eagles scored 150½ points, edging Moapa Valley (146½).

James Morgan won the shot put at 58-11¼ and the discus at 126-10½ for Boulder City.

Josh Thompson won the 1,600 in 4:35.08, claimed the 3,200 in 10:51.11, and finished second in the 800 in 2:05.28 to lead Moapa Valley. Bowen Call won the 300 hurdles in 41.11 and took second in the 110 hurdles in 16.45 for the Pirates.

Spring Mountain’s John Pamplin won the 100 in 11.37 and took second in the 200 in 23.02, and teammate Anthony Hurd-Samuels won the long jump at 20 feet, 4 inches, and took second in the 100 in 11.41.

West Wendover’s Adan Chavez won the high jump at 5-8 and took second in the long jump at 19-9½.
 
GIRLS

At Moapa Valley, Jessica Tobler won the 1,600 in 5:50.66 and the 3,200 in 12:52.35 to lead Boulder City to the team title at the Grant Bushman Invitational.

Boulder City scored 138½ points, edging Virgin Valley (131).

Boulder City’s Tasia Toumasis won the 200 in 29.01 seconds and was second in the 400 in 1:03.61.

Virgin Valley’s McCall Graiek won the 100 hurdles in 16.45 and the 300 hurdles in 49.66.

Calvary Chapel’s Cortney Miller took the shot put at 34-2½ and the discus at 102-0.
