GIRLS TRACK: Thomas-Palmer, Vikings edge visiting Wildcats

Eimainei Thomas-Palmer won the triple jump and high jump Wednesday to lead Valley’s girls track team to a 70-61 victory over visiting Las Vegas.

Thomas-Palmer took the triple jump with a mark of 36 feet 4 inches, and cleared 4-8 in the high jump. She also ran on the winning 400-meter relay team and took second in the long jump.

Las Vegas’ Kara Bowden won the 800 in 2 minutes, 49 seconds and the 1,600 in 6:05.2.

Falcons top Basic

At Foothill, Laura Simonson won the 200 and ran on three winning relays to lead the Falcons to a 99-46 win over visiting Basic.

Simonson took the 200 in 27.27 and ran on the 400, 800 and 1,600 relay teams for Foothill.

Arianna Beasley won the 100 (13.21) and ran on the 400 relay team, Jenna Loria took the 400 (1:02.7) and ran on the 1,600 relay team and Madeline Videtto won the high jump (4-10) and ran on the 400 relay team for the Falcons.

Eagles win five-team meet

At Overton, Katlyn Daly won the shot put and ran on two winning relays to lead Boulder City to victory in a five-team meet.

The Eagles had 122 points to beat Faith Lutheran (98), Clark (79), Moapa Valley (50) and Pahranagat Valley (2).

Daly took the shot put with a mark of 34-1½, and ran on the winning 400 and 1,600 relay teams.

Faith Lutheran’s Cayla Nikodemus won the 100 (12.54) and long jump (17-0½).

Silverado beats Liberty

At Silverado, Monet Salazar and Micayla Kelley each won two events to power the Skyhawks to an 84-62 win over Liberty.

Salazar won the shot put (37-9½) and discus (123-8), and Kelley was first in the 100 (12.8) and long jump (15-10) for Silverado.

Cougars win three-team meet

At Coronado, Haleigh Piotrowski won three events to help the Cougars capture a three-team meet.

Coronado scored 95 points. Rancho had 50, and Indian Springs had 1.

Piotrowski won the pole vault (9-0), high jump (4-10) and triple jump (29-8). The Cougars’ Sasha McCormick took the discus (90-5) and shot put (31-2), and teammate Samantha Conway won the 1,600 (5:45.28) and 3,200 (12:33.96).

Gators roll by Eldorado

At Green Valley, Sara Braverman won the 800 in 2:40.25 and the 1,600 in 6:00.57 to lead the Gators to a 124-18 rout of Eldorado.
