Liu lifts Longhorns over Gaels

Brandon Liu had 41 assists and eight digs on Tuesday to help Legacy’s boys volleyball team to a 22-25, 25-20, 25-16, 25-19 win over host Bishop Gorman.

Tanner Compton had 17 kills and four blocks for the Longhorns, and teammate Trent Compton added 15 kills and nine digs. Antoine Tilmon had five blocks for Legacy.

Cody Tom led Gorman with 26 assists and six digs, and Anthony Pitaro added 10 kills and seven digs for the Gaels.

Desert Pines 3, Western 1 — At Desert Pines, Joel Perez had 25 assists to help lead the Jaguars to a 13-25, 25-21, 26-24, 25-20 win over the Warriors.

Travis Nofoa had 13 kills, and Bryan Garcia added 15 assists for Desert Pines.

Western’s Vadell Wilson had 14 kills, and teammate Braeden Smith supplied 25 assists. Derrick Rinfrow contributed seven kills for the Warriors.

Sunrise Mountain 3, Cheyenne 1 — At Sunrise Mountain, Rico Lucas had nine assists, seven kills, five assists and two blocks, and Demetrius Graves added seven kills and three aces as the Miners beat the Desert Shields 25-22, 21-25, 25-20, 25-22.

Jordan Briggs supplied three kills and two blocks for Sunrise Mountain.

Foothill 3, Del Sol 0 — At Foothill, Kendell Andrews had 10 kills to lead the Falcons to a 25-17, 25-8, 25-10 sweep of the Dragons.

Caleb Hutchinson notched six kills, and Raymond Buccat served six aces for Foothill.

Deavon Halcomb had eight kills, and Jesse Brown added eight assists to lead Del Sol.

Centennial 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Desert Oasis, Chet Durkin had 40 assists, and Blake Frischknecht added 14 kills as the Bulldogs swept the Diamondbacks, 25-22, 25-17, 25-12.

Hunter Stratton had 10 kills, and Cameron Olsen added eight kills for Centennial.

Nate Norr had 15 digs and three kills, and Matt Makovnyk supplied 16 digs for Desert Oasis, which got four kills and two blocks from Cody Leslie.

Mojave 3, Chaparral 0 — At Chaparral, Christian Limtiaco had 12 kills and 12 digs, and Jovan Carrazco tallied 26 assists as the Rattlers swept the Cowboys 25-17, 25-16, 25-23.

Darryl Miller-Green added eight kills and six blocks for Mojave.

Bonanza 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Cimarron, Kellen Layne had 11 kills as the Bengals defeated the Spartans, 25-18, 25-19, 25-21.

Brian Clow had 13 digs and eight kills, and Adam Puckoris had 21 digs for Bonanza.

Taylor Larsen had 27 assists to lead Cimarron.

Kyle Henriksen supplied 13 kills and six digs, and Salvador Garcia added 11 kills for the Spartans.

Coronado 3, Liberty 0 — At Liberty, Matt Pettit had 11 kills and seven digs to help the Cougars to a 25-12, 25-12, 25-20 win over the Patriots.

Logan Dickover added 24 assists, and Max Osmundson and Tyler Cucullu each had seven kills for Coronado. Cucullu and Coltin Romney each added nine digs for the Cougars.
Eric Avila led Liberty with seven kills.

Basic 3, Eldorado 1 — At Eldorado, Will Fitzpatrick had nine kills and four aces to lead Basic to a 23-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-21 win over the Sundevils.

Taylor Dyer added 14 assists, and Darin Kline had eight kills for Basic. Joaquin Pequeno had six blocks and Dylan Green five blocks for the Wolves.

David Tran led Eldorado with 10 kills. Cody Ence had 18 digs, and teammate Michael Thomas had 20 assists for the Sundevils.

Tech 3, Clark 0 — At Tech, Tyler Gardenhire had 11 kills, four digs and four blocks to lead the Roadrunners to a 26-24, 25-18, 25-13 win over the Chargers.

Omar Mena added 10 kills, and Miguel Garcia had eight kills and eight digs for Tech.

Walt Benda led Clark with eight kills.
