ROUNDUP: Aggies secure playoff spot with sweep of Longhorns

Taylor Jones dished out 26 assists Monday as Arbor View’s boys volleyball team wrapped up the final playoff spot in the Northwest League with a 25-20, 25-20, 25-19 win at Legacy.

Kirby Mengert had 15 kills, and Jesse Morgan added 14 digs for the Aggies.

Dylan Witecki had seven kills, and Billy Purcell and Justin Paquin added six kills apiece for the Longhorns.

Palo Verde 3, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Nick Hipwell had eight kills, four digs and three blocks, and Sean Wilson added 22 assists and five aces to lead the Panthers to a 25-9, 25-9, 25-13 rout of the Rattlers.

Pat Morrison added six digs for Palo Verde.

Mojave’s Demarge Boyd had three kills and two blocks, and Greg Guese posted eight digs for the Rattlers.

Shadow Ridge 3, Cheyenne 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Quinn Skouson had eight kills, and Jalen Makaiwi distributed 17 assists to lead the Mustangs past the Desert Shields, 25-10, 25-8, 25-22.

Jeremy Makaiwi added eight aces and 10 digs for Shadow Ridge.

Ervin Leu led Cheyenne with six kills and six assists. Casey Johansen and Nathan Pryor each had four kills for the Desert Shields.

Centennial 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Centennial, Tyler Rogers, Matt Kurtz and Cameron Olsen each had 10 kills in the Bulldogs’ 25-17, 25-10, 25-22 sweep of the Spartans.

Ares Manumaleuna had seven kills for the Spartans. Tanner Maxwell added eight assists and five kills, and Braydon Egbert supplied four digs for Cimarron.

Coronado 3, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, Chris Andrulis contributed 12 kills and five blocks to help the Cougars down the Dragons, 25-20, 25-9, 25-14.

Hunter Chaney dished out 30 assists, and Bryan Glenn had seven kills and five blocks for Coronado.

Nick Maglaras supplied 14 assists and eight digs, and Eric Beil had nine digs and five kills for Del Sol.

Basic 3, Tech 0 — At Tech, Stephen Udall dished out 27 assists in the Wolves’ 25-15, 25-18, 25-19 victory over the Roadrunners.
Jordan Pils racked up 11 kills for Basic.

Eddie Lopez had 12 assists, and Dalton Webb contributed five kills and three blocks for Tech.

Green Valley 3, Liberty 0 — At Green Valley, Beau Gronert had eight kills and seven digs to help the Gators to a 25-21, 25-14, 25-21 sweep of the Patriots.

Vimal Patel tallied 10 kills, and Jon Cheun added 13 digs for Green Valley. Nick Hevrin dished out 30 assists for the Gators.

Silverado 3, Foothill 0 — At Foothill, Casey Hadland supplied 27 assists, six kills, four digs and three blocks to help the Skyhawks sweep Foothill, 25-15, 25-11, 25-16.

Kyle Divicino had eight kills, and Shawn Steckel added five kills and three aces for Silverado.

Britain Rosenberg dished out 14 assists, and F.J. Funtila and Joel Stoker supplied five kills apiece for the Falcons.
