ROUNDUP: Fisher, Skouson carry Shadow Ridge to upset of Palo Verde
Brandon Fisher had 18 kills, and Quinn Skouson added 14 kills Wednesday to help Shadow Ridge’s boys volleyball team hand host Palo Verde its first Northwest League loss in a 17-25, 25-21, 29-27, 15-25, 17-15 decision.
Cody Tesoro contributed 31 digs for Shadow Ridge (11-4, 9-2 Northwest).
Sean Wilson dished out 51 assists for Palo Verde (12-2, 10-1). Brandon King supplied 27 kills, and Trent Gneiting tallied 18 kills for the Panthers.
Cimarron-Memorial 3, Legacy 1 — At Cimarron, Ares Manumaleuna and Hunter Stratton each had 20 kills, and Taylor Larsen dished out 28 assists to lead the Spartans to a 25-13, 25-15, 23-25, 25-21 win over the Longhorns.
Justin Paquin had 19 kills and five digs for Legacy, which got 27 assists from Eric Valerio.
Centennial 3, Mojave 0 — At Centennial, Ryan Ramin put down 12 kills as the Bulldogs swept the Rattlers, 25-11, 25-7, 25-9.
Dustin Buell added five kills, and Mike Robinson served eight aces for Centennial.
Arbor View 3, Cheyenne 1 — At Cheyenne, Gennady Shataev had 19 kills to lead the Aggies to a 25-14, 23-25, 25-14, 25-11 victory over the Desert Shields.
Dylan Mengert supplied eight kills and eight digs for Arbor View.
Nathan Pryor led Cheyenne with six kills, three aces and two digs. Jaaron Morris added seven kills for the Desert Shields, and Casey Johansen had six kills.
Coronado 3, Green Valley 0 — At Green Valley, Byrin Romney dished out 34 assists, and Jahren Makanoa totaled 13 kills and eight digs as the Cougars swept the Gators, 25-18, 25-17, 25-22.
Chris Andrulis supplied 10 kills and seven digs for Coronado, which got five kills from Jacob Pankey.
Beau Gronert tallied 13 kills and five blocks to pace Green Valley, and teammate Dallas Tueller added six kills.
Silverado 3, Del Sol 1 — At Silverado, Kyle Divicino had 13 kills, and Jordan Royal added 10 kills to lead the Skyhawks to a 25-19, 25-8, 21-25, 25-16 victory over the Dragons.
Indigo Varela dished out 31 assists for Silverado.
Eric Beil led Del Sol with 15 kills and 15 digs. Cameron Ely added 11 kills and 15 digs for the Dragons, and Dennis Takahashi tallied 32 assists.
Tech 3, Foothill 1 — At Tech, Dalton Webb had 10 kills and five digs to lead the Roadrunners to a 25-10, 23-25, 25-23, 25-17 win over the Falcons.
Hector Galvan added 13 assists, four kills and two blocks, and Adan Hernandez contributed seven aces, six blocks and five kills for Tech.
Basic 3, Liberty 0 — At Liberty, Tanner Humpherys put down 22 kills, and John Fitz supplied 13 assists to help the Wolves sweep the Patriots, 25-19, 25-23, 25-14.
Sebastian Madno tallied nine assists for Liberty, which got four kills from Daniel Filimona.
