VOLLEYBALL: Diggins, Trailblazers top Mountain Lions

Michael Diggins had 17 kills Monday to help Durango’s boys volleyball team down host Sierra Vista, 25-23, 25-18, 21-25, 15-25, 15-9.

Jaylen Clark had seven kills and 12 digs, and Andre Shabazz added 20 assists for the Trailblazers.

Clyde Balagtas had 11 kills for the Mountain Lions.

Arbor View 3, Shadow Ridge 1 — At Shadow Ridge, Chris Herron had 48 assists and three kills to lead the Aggies to a 25-18, 26-24, 19-25, 25-12 win over the Mustangs.

Darrell Swanson and Sam Buckels each added 13 kills for Arbor View.

Nathan Makaiwi led Shadow Ridge with 30 assists. Carter Johson added eight kills and seven digs for the Mustangs, who got 13 digs from A.J. Makaiwi.

Silverado 3, Rancho 1 — At Silverado, Jeremiah Ward had 14 kills to lead Silverado to a 16-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-22 victory over the Rams.

Cody Steckel had 34 assists for Silverado, and teammate Travis Houston had 16 digs.

Martin Rodriguez and Ryan Hafen each had 10 kills for Rancho, which got 33 assists from Aaron Robles.

Valley 3, Green Valley 1 — At Valley, Jack Heavey had 20 kills and 10 digs to lead the Vikings to a 25-10, 28-26, 28-30, 25-17 victory over the Gators.

Matt Ballaro had 17 kills, 10 digs and four aces, and Alex Sandoval had 51 assists and six digs for the Vikings, who got 10 kills from Zack Ross.

Zachary Hewitt had 11 kills, six digs and three aces for the Gators. Ethan Hunt added nine kills and four digs, and Dustin Elliott had eight kills, eight digs and three aces for Green Valley.

Las Vegas 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Chris Kampshoff had seven kills and three digs, and Royce Reyes supplied 20 assists and four aces as the Wildcats swept the Pioneers, 25-16, 25-8, 25-12.

Ronnel Sonson had six kills and three digs, and Tristan Gordon added six kills for Las Vegas.

Canyon Springs’ Gaspar Gonzalez had six kills, and teammate Jared Cabagua added six assists. Cesno Balmes had three digs for the Pioneers.

Palo Verde 3, Spring Valley 0 — At Spring Valley, Michael Simister had 10 kills and 13 digs to lead the Panthers to a 25-13, 25-9, 25-20 sweep of the Grizzlies.

Jonathan Hecker added 10 kills, and Andrew Weston had 25 assists for Palo Verde.

Bradd Robison led Spring Valley with five kills and eight blocks. Troy Lance had nine blocks, and James Nunez recorded 10 assists for the Grizzlies.
