VOLLEYBALL: Thomas guides Eldorado boys past Dragons

Michael Thomas had 41 assists on Monday to lead Eldorado’s boys volleyball team to a 25-11, 19-25, 25-20, 23-25, 15-6 win over visiting Del Sol.

Dakota Shults had 15 kills, and David Tran had 12 kills for the Sundevils, who got nine kills and four blocks from Jacob Hollingsworth.

Juan Mendoza led Del Sol with 11 digs and seven kills. La’akea Cabanas added seven kills and four blocks, and Deavan Holcomb had eight blocks for the Dragons.

Centennial 3, Bonanza 2 — At Centennial, Chet Durkin racked up 40 assists to help the Bulldogs to a 25-15, 23-25, 25-16, 23-25, 15-11 win over the Bengals.

Blake Frischknecht supplied 29 kills and two aces, and Connor Morris tallied 19 digs for Centennial.

Kavanaugh Buck had 10 kills, and Kellen Layne had 11 kills and 15 digs for Bonanza, which got 12 digs and seven kills from Brian Clow.

Tech 3, Desert Pines 1 — At Tech, Tyler Gardenhire had 12 kills, 13 digs, four blocks and two aces to help the Roadrunners to an 18-25, 25-17, 25-21, 25-15 win over the Jaguars.

Miguel Garcia supplied 11 kills, eight digs and three blocks, and Joshua Wood added 23 assists, four kills and three digs for Tech. Bryan Catenza had 12 digs and four kills for the Roadrunners.

Bryan Garcia had 21 digs, 19 assists and three aces, and Travis Nofoa tallied 11 kills for the Jaguars.

Legacy 3, Desert Oasis 1 — At Desert Oasis, Zaire Franklin had 17 kills and two aces, and Jonah Tarlton spiked 14 kills as the Longhorns posted an 18-25, 25-14, 25-23, 25-22 win over the Diamondbacks.

Tanner Compton had eight kills, 23 digs and four blocks for Legacy.

Saunoa Afoa had 15 kills, and Reese Austin supplied seven kills and two blocks for Desert Oasis. Nate Norr had 19 digs and six kills for the Diamondbacks.

Bishop Gorman 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Gorman, Amadeus Sowa racked up 16 kills, 12 digs and four aces to help the Gaels to a 25-17, 28-26, 25-18 win over the Spartans.

Cody Tom supplied 38 assists, and Chris Shea tallied eight kills and eight digs for Gorman, which got 11 digs and six kills from Tony Pitaro.

Taylor Larsen had 11 assists and four kills, and Salvador Garcia added seven kills and four blocks for the Spartans, who got eight assists from Nate Starlin and six kills from Royce Hightower.

Coronado 3, Basic 0 — At Basic, Logan Dickover had 14 assists and six digs to help the Cougars to a 25-6, 25-16, 25-17 win over the Wolves.

Tyler Cucullu had seven kills and five aces, and Matt Pettit and Max Osmundson each had seven kills and five digs for Coronado.

Taylor Dyer had seven assists, and Will Fitzpatrick added four kills for Basic, which got four blocks apiece from Hunter Cole and Darin Klein. 

Chaparral 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Chaparral, Richard Ramirez had 14 digs and two kills to help the Cowboys to a 25-17, 25-14, 25-13 victory over the Miners.

Dominic Carr supplied nine kills and three blocks, and Steven Cerio had six kills and two aces for Chaparral, which got four aces and three kills from Rian De Los Reyes.

Foothill 3, Liberty 0 — At Foothill, Kendell Andrews had 14 kills, four blocks and eight digs as the Falcons swept the Patriots, 25-12, 25-15, 25-14.

Taeg Williams had 38 assists, and Chansten Chow added nine kills, five blocks and seven digs for Foothill.
