VOLLEYBALL: Williams, Falcons rally to top Wolves at home

Taeg Williams had 50 assists and 20 digs on Wednesday to lead Foothill’s boys volleyball team to a 25-18, 22-25, 25-27, 25-20, 15-5 win over visiting Basic.

Trevor Robison had 19 kills and 14 digs, and Colin Curi added 19 kills and 12 digs for the Falcons, who got 39 digs and three aces from Yuri Del Alcazar.

Auston Farrington and Calvin Knuppel each had 10 kills to lead Basic. Taylor Dyer had 35 assists for the Wolves, and teammate Austin McDonald added 31 digs.

Bonanza 3, Desert Oasis 1 — At Desert Oasis, Andrew Jensen had 15 kills and five blocks to lead the Bengals to a 24-26, 25-12, 25-23, 25-16 win over the Diamondbacks.

Kellen Layne had 15 kills, and Adam Puckoris added 11 blocks and seven aces for the Bengals, who got 35 assists from Joshua Lee.

Devin Lewis led the Diamondbacks with nine kills.

Centennial 3, Bishop Gorman 1 — At Bishop Gorman, Tanner Durkin recorded 13 kills and three aces to help the Bulldogs down the Gaels, 25-12, 25-12, 21-25, 25-22.

Tanner Polley had eight kills and three aces, and teammate Chet Durkin added 32 assists and five aces for Centennial.

Tony Pitaro had 28 kills, five digs and three aces for the Gaels, who got 35 assists and three digs from Cody Tom.

Liberty 3, Del Sol 0 — At Liberty, Brycen Ivester had 19 assists as the Patriots swept the Dragons, 25-17, 25-11, 25-15.

Ryan Taggert added three blocks for Liberty.

La’akea Cabanas led Del Sol with eight kills, three assists, three aces and two blocks. Blane Quitog had 10 digs, four assists and three blocks, and Andrei Santamaria recorded seven digs and four aces for the Dragons.

Coronado 3, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Logan Dickover had 34 assists and three digs, and Max Osmundson notched 10 kills, four aces and three digs as the Cougars beat the Sundevils, 25-18, 25-12, 25-15.

Travis Boman added nine kills, six digs and three blocks for Coronado.

Dakota Shults led Eldorado with eight kills, and teammate Jacob Hollingsworth supplied five kills.

Legacy 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Cimarron, Braden Liu had 39 assists to lead the Longhorns to a 25-17, 25-13, 25-16 sweep of the Spartans.

Treston Mendosa supplied seven kills and seven digs, and Zaire Franklin added seven digs and six kills for Legacy.

Nate Starlin had 12 assists, and Roy Gonzalez had six kills to lead Cimarron.
