ROUNDUP: Dowd, Wolfenbarger lead Falcons past Chaparral
Ashley Dowd notched 20 assists, and Zoe Wolfenbarger added 12 aces and six kills Tuesday to power Foothill’s girls volleyball team past visiting Chaparral, 25-5, 25-7, 25-9.
Britney Frasier added eight kills and six aces, and Pamela Sakuma registered seven aces and three kills for the Falcons.
Green Valley 3, Las Vegas 1 — At Green Valley, Carly Schiess racked up 18 kills and 14 digs as the Gators held off the Wildcats, 25-7, 25-17, 22-25, 25-16.
Emma Johnson added 15 kills and four aces for Green Valley. Alexa Drost contributed 14 digs, and Jenna Swaffer dished out 35 assists for Green Valley.
Breanna Melton paced the Wildcats with 11 kills and eight digs. Tiffanie Jackson added 28 assists and nine digs, and Natresha Bernard recorded nine kills for Las Vegas.
Basic 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Jackie Foust had nine kills, and Kamisha Richardson added eight kills as the Wolves rolled to a 25-7, 25-13, 25-20 win over the Pioneers.
Wendy Williams added 13 assists and three aces, and teammate Brielle Wilke had nine assists for Basic.
Coronado 3, Rancho 0 — At Coronado, Kuulei Piena had eight kills, seven digs and two aces to lead the Cougars to a 25-9, 25-7, 25-12 victory over the Rams.
Katie Gamsky tallied 12 assists and three digs for Coronado.
Moapa Valley 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Sierra Kimbrough had seven aces to help the Pirates roll past the Jaguars, 25-18, 25-13, 25-19.
Ashley Noto and Malary Reid each added four kills for Moapa Valley.
Monica Estella had 14 digs, five kills and two aces to lead Desert Pines.
Boulder City 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Kayla Nix had nine kills and four aces to lead the Eagles in a 25-18, 25-19, 25-18 victory over the Miners.
Avalon Frantz added 20 assists, and Emily Boyster posted four blocks for Boulder City.
Alicia Winchester led Sunrise Mountain with seven kills and two blocks. Tiara Veal added 12 assists, and Elise Marshall had five kills for the Miners.
Virgin Valley 3, Liberty 0 — At Liberty, the Bulldogs beat the Patriots, 25-22, 26-24, 25-19.
Nicole Fredericks led Liberty with five aces, seven kills and nine digs. Tia Chai added seven kills and nine aces for the Patriots, and teammate Jannine Romeo supplied 15 digs.
Silverado 3, Valley 0 — At Silverado, the Skyhawks cruised to a 25-10, 25-8, 25-10 victory over the Vikings.
Valley’s Nyla Whalum had nine digs.
The Meadows 3, Pahranagat Valley 1 — At The Meadows, Jackie Lipkowitz racked up 12 digs, nine kills, three aces and two blocks to lead the Mustangs to a 25-27, 25-13, 25-23, 29-27 win over the Panthers in a battle of defending state champions.
Alex Hall added 17 digs and eight kills for the Mustangs. Sinead Lopez had 19 digs, and Vanessa Hall distributed 28 assists for The Meadows.
Del Sol 3, Eldorado 2 — At Eldorado, Del Sol rallied to defeat the Sundevils, 10-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-15,15-8.
