ROUNDUP: Faith Lutheran girls move into tie for first place

Kelsey McCourt dished out 35 assists Friday to help Faith Lutheran move into a tie for first place in the Class 3A Southern League girls volleyball standings with a 25-20, 25-15, 25-19 win at Boulder City.

The Crusaders and Moapa Valley both are 4-1 in league play with one match remaining.

Hayley Washinsky added 17 kills and three aces and Katy Trollier seven digs for Faith Lutheran.

Moapa Valley 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Desert Oasis, the visiting Pirates posted a 25-8, 25-13, 25-11 win over the Diamondbacks.

Calvary Chapel 2-2, Mountain View 0-0 — At Mountain View, Lauren Feigler had four kills and eight digs in the opener and five kills and six digs in the nightcap as Calvary Chapel swept the Saints, 25-21, 25-16 and 25-19, 25-18.

In the first match, Jordan Strong had four blocks and four assists and Jamie Bearden six assists for Calvary Chapel.

Zari Riley had three kills, and Joy Tiongson and Kristen Gonzalez had two kills each for Mountain View in the opener.

In the finale, Strong had seven aces and Brettani Davis seven digs.

Charde Page had seven kills and two blocks for Mountain View in the nightcap.

The Meadows 2-1, Needles (Calif.) 0-2 — At The Meadows, Kristyna Fong had 23 digs to help The Meadows win the opening match, 25-16, 25-23. Needles claimed the nightcap, 25-19, 23-25, 15-13.

Kim McLaughlin had 15 assists and three aces, Austin McMillan seven kills and Laura Walsh six kills for The Meadows in the first match.

In the second match, Fong had 15 digs, McLaughlin 16 assists and two aces, McMillan seven kills and two aces and Lindsie Kutcher nine kills.

Lake Mead 3, Round Mountain 0 — At Round Mountain, Ashley Newton’s 19 kills, 15 digs and nine blocks helped the Eagles to a 25-17, 26-24, 26-24 win over the Knights.

Amanda Wellman added 11 kills and 10 digs, Sam Herman eight blocks and five kills, Jessica Rinaldi 24 assists and Jordan Clarke 11 digs for Lake Mead.
