ROUNDUP: Hammel, Bengals take No. 3 seed from Trojans

Bree Hammel piled up 26 digs, 19 kills and three blocks Thursday as Bonanza’s girls volleyball team secured the Southwest League’s No. 3 seed for the Sunset Region playoffs by defeating visiting Pahrump Valley, 25-22, 25-22, 18-25, 25-17.
Jessica Wilcox added 24 digs, 10 kills and four aces, and Lauren Karn distributed 41 assists for Bonanza, which got 14 kills from Rykki Rudd.
Alyson Kunzi had 10 assists and Reegan Van Engen put up five blocks for Pahrump, which earned the Southwest’s No. 4 seed for the playoffs.
Desert Oasis 3, Western 0 — At Desert Oasis, Kindra Stanfield distributed 15 assists with two kills in the Diamondbacks’ 25-11, 25-9, 25-19 sweep of the Warriors.
Emily Heinz had six kills, and Lenzi Cram added five kills for Desert Oasis.
Clark 3, Spring Valley 1 — At Clark, Danica Ozaki had 10 digs, two kills and two aces, and Jessica Silva added nine kills, five aces and two blocks as the Chargers rallied past the Grizzlies, 14-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-17.
Kristen Chavez supplied nine digs, four kills and three aces, and Yolanda Li added 13 assists and four aces for Clark.
Elena Kniola had seven kills, six digs and three aces to pace Spring Valley. Kiley Bortman and Kalianna Mehling each contributed eight digs, with Bortman adding four kills for the Grizzlies.
Sierra Vista 3, Durango 0 — At Durango, Morgan Malone had 29 assists, three aces and two kills, and Brooke Robinson added 12 kills and two aces as the Lions swept the Trailblazers, 25-14, 25-15, 25-15.
Vanna Wilks supplied four aces, six kills and four blocks for Sierra Vista.
Sarah Tullis had eight assists, and Mariah Fuentes added five digs for Durango.
Faith Lutheran 3, Shadow Ridge 1 — At Shadow Ridge, Kelsey McCourt dished out 47 assists, and Taylor Richards racked up 16 kills and 12 digs to push the Crusaders past the Mustangs, 25-21, 25-17, 22-25, 25-21.
Vanessa Sigman had 13 kills and seven digs, and Paige Henderson supplied nine kills and five blocks for Faith Lutheran.
Niehely Sosa had 20 kills and 10 blocks, and Rachel Childers tallied 43 assists and five blocks for Shadow Ridge.
Arbor View 3, Palo Verde 1 — At Arbor View, Lorin Rader had 29 assists, 17 digs and two aces, and Jenna Lyons notched 23 digs to help the Aggies get by the Panthers, 25-22, 15-25, 25-21, 25-22.
Amber Graham spiked 18 kills, and Gabby St. Martin contributed 16 digs for Arbor View.
Stephanie Herman had 13 assists and nine digs, and Rachel Mez had 14 digs for Palo Verde.
Cimarron-Memorial 3, Mojave 0 — At Cimarron, Toree Manumaleuna had 14 assists and six aces, and Leilani Blanco put down four kills to lead the Spartans to a sweep of the Rattlers, 25-21, 25-17, 25-14.
Denise Velez added four aces for Cimarron.
Jazmine Gardner dished out nine assists, and Jazmin Pedraza tallied four digs, three kills and two assists for Mojave.
Legacy 3, Cheyenne 0 — At Legacy, Erica Jones had eight assists and seven aces, and Jessica Van Alsen supplied five kills and three aces as the Longhorns swept the Desert Shields, 25-17, 25-11, 25-21.
Siana Tuitama added five kills for Legacy.
Nadine Simmons had five kills and three blocks for Cheyenne, and Emily Herdt tallied four blocks and two kills.
Green Valley 3, Centennial 1 — At Centennial, Jenna Swaffer collected 40 assists, seven digs and four aces as the Gators topped the Bulldogs, 25-23, 20-25, 25-21, 25-10.
Carly Schiess added 14 kills, and Alexa Drost contributed 13 digs for Green Valley.
Ashley Hill had 15 digs, and Alli Tatom added 11 blocks and four kills for Centennial, which got nine blocks and two kills from Alex Johnson.
Virgin Valley 3, Moapa Valley 0 — At Mesquite, Nikki Hafen racked up 24 assists, five aces and four blocks in the Bulldogs’ 25-5, 25-12, 25-13 sweep of the Pirates.
Rachel Morris added six kills, five aces and three blocks, and Madison Bowler had five kills and five aces for Virgin Valley, which got eight kills from Annie Biasi.
Calvary Chapel 2-1, Lincoln County 1-2 — At Panaca, Brettani Davis had 18 digs and three assists as the Lions took the opening match of a doubleheader, 22-25, 25-13, 15-10. The Lynx won the nightcap, 29-27, 23-25, 15-12.
Laura Perri added 14 assists, three aces, three digs and two kills, and Bri Ridley supplied nine kills, four digs and three blocks for Calvary Chapel in the opening match.
Davis also had 19 digs and four kills for the Lions in the finale. Ridley added 16 kills, and Perri dished out 19 assists for Calvary Chapel, which got seven kills from Deja Harris.
The Meadows 2-2, Laughlin 0-0 — At The Meadows, Vanessa Hall racked up 16 assists and four aces in the opener and 18 assists and three digs in the nightcap of the Mustangs’ 25-10, 25-12 and 25-16, 25-20 doubleheader sweep of the Cougars.
Sinead Lopez had 10 digs, and Kathryn Chakmak put down five kills in the opener for The Meadows. Casey Kanarek added five digs and three kills in the first match.
In the nightcap, Lopez had nine digs, and Kanarek supplied six digs and four kills. Chakmak again supplied five kills.
Needles 2-2, Agassi Prep 0-1 — At Needles, Calif., the Mustangs took both matches of a doubleheader from the Stars, 26-24, 29-27 and 20-25, 25-17, 15-10.
Pahranagat Valley 3, Tonopah 0 — At Alamo, the Panthers clinched the Class 1A Southern League regular-season title with a 25-15, 25-21, 25-22 win over the Muckers.
Sam Kimber had 10 kills and five blocks for Tonopah, and teammate Britney Klapper added 16 assists.
Round Mountain 3, Trinity 1 — At Trinity, the Knights were 25-17, 17-25, 25-18, 25-18 winners over the Thunder.
