ROUNDUP: Morris, Pioneers outlast Jaguars

Sydney Morris had 13 kills and six blocks Monday to help Canyon Springs’ girls volleyball team to a 25-20, 22-25, 18-25, 27-25, 15-9 home win over Desert Pines.

Natasha Montano added 14 assists, and teammate Caroline Fau had nine kills and five aces for the Pioneers. Emily Tuala served five aces for Canyon Springs, which got nine digs from Summer Asturi.

Jazzmin Avalos paced the Jaguars with 12 assists and 15 digs. Cynthia Zack supplied 20 digs, and Erika Gutierrez had seven kills for Desert Pines, which got eight aces from Melissa Benford.

Moapa Valley 3, Pahrump Valley 2 — At Overton, Makenzie Bush, Alex Peterson and Shelbie Gray each had nine kills to help the Pirates outlast the Trojans, 25-22, 20-25, 25-14, 15-25, 15-7.

Gray also had four blocks, and Bailey Owens added 13 kills and four blocks for Moapa Valley. Summer Owens served three aces for the Pirates.

Breanna Gascoigne had 23 digs to pace Pahrump. Bryana Soliwoda had 10 assists, and Whitney Roderick added five kills for the Trojans.

Spring Valley 3, Mojave 0 — At Spring Valley, Nicole Rafay had seven kills, seven digs and three assists, and Jessica Rafay added nine assists and four digs to help the Grizzlies sweep the Rattlers, 25-11, 25-17, 25-7.

Hannah Karas supplied 16 digs, and Rachel Milan had nine digs and three kills for Spring Valley, which got eight digs from Jessica Stevens.

Valley 3, Western 0 — At Valley, Diva Carter recorded eight kills, seven digs and five aces as the Vikings posted a 25-17, 25-18, 25-18 sweep of the Warriors.

Gabby Cabanero had seven kills, and Taylor Sandhu distributed 13 assists for Valley. Ma’Kayla Hicks added five kills and two blocks for the Vikings.

Melissa Ceballos served five aces to lead Western. Odalys Garcia had four digs, and Teneya Williams chipped in three blocks for the Warriors.
