VOLLEYBALL: Longhorns prevail in four sets

Saipeti Fuiava had 13 kills, three aces and three digs, and Myah Maxwell had 14 kills and eight digs to lead Legacy’s girls volleyball team to a 25-8, 32-30, 21-25, 25-19 win over visiting Basic on Wednesday.

Kamaile Mendonsa had 34 assists, eight digs and five aces, and Mia Suzuki added 24 digs for the Longhorns.

Kiara Richardson had eight kills, 16 digs, two aces and two digs for the Wolves, and teammate Serenity Lomprey added three kills, four aces, three blocks and seven digs.

Centennial 3, Durango 0 — At Centennial, Talie Bonds recorded five kills, 11 assists and 10 digs, and Siara Roberts notched eight kills and eight digs as the Bulldogs swept the Trailblazers, 25-4, 25-10, 25-14.

Natalie Starlin had two kills, five aces and four digs, and Kaysha Clark supplied eight digs and two aces for Centennial.

Cayla Cooper had 16 digs for Durango.

Snow Canyon (Utah) 3, Bishop Gorman 2 — At St. George, Utah, Vashti Cunningham put down 21 kills in the Gaels’ 20-25, 25-18, 25-15, 24-26, 15-17 loss to the Warriors.

Abbey Archambault added 13 kills, and Sydney Lobato had seven kills, four aces and 44 assists for Gorman.

Coronado 3, Palo Verde 0 — At Coronado, Emily Bender had 13 kills, seven digs and two blocks to lead the Cougars to a 25-12, 25-18, 25-13 victory over the Panthers.

Cali Thompson added 34 assists, two kills, four aces and two blocks, and Nikki Jackson had seven kills, five digs and five blocks for Coronado.

Zoe Lier (5 kills, 7 blocks) and Navi Lee (6 kills, 10 digs) helped the Cougars.

Emma Gutierrez led Palo Verde with nine assists, and teammate Kallie Koch had seven digs.

Liberty 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Liberty, Aaliyah Ward dished out 17 assists, and Alexandra Farnsworth supplied five kills to lead the Patriots to a 25-23, 25-16, 25-20 sweep of the Spartans.

Kelsey Camat-Toki had six digs for Liberty.

Alondra Estrada had 27 assists to pace Cimarron.

Western 3, Valley 0 — At Valley, Destiny Gonzalez posted 12 kills, four blocks, three aces and two digs to lead the Warriors to a 25-16, 25-21, 25-8 sweep of the Vikings.

Nicole Riggs supplied 15 assists and three aces for Western.

Hannah Geberyesus tallied 13 assists, four digs and three aces, and Michelle Burkhalter had five blocks and two aces for Valley.

Spring Valley 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Spring Valley, Danielle Amonica had 10 kills, 10 assists and five aces, and Jessica Rafay added eight kills, 11 assists and six aces to propel the Grizzlies to a 25-9, 25-12, 25-16 sweep of the Pioneers.

Alleanna Thomson had three kills, and Cashmere Buford notched two digs for Spring Valley.

Eldorado 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Abigail Olsen had 23 assists and eight aces, and Anya Olsen finished with five kills and two aces as the Sundevils swept the Miners.
