WRESTLING: Eagles reign supreme in Boulder City

Boulder City’s Collin Fox, Bryan Foster and Jack Rozycki each won three matches by pin to lead the Eagles to wrestling wins over Bonanza, Desert Oasis and Rancho.

Fox (132 pounds), Foster (145) and Rozycki (285) had the team’s only pins in a 57-19 win over Bonanza. The Eagles also won six matches by forfeit against the Bengals.

Bonanza’s Ruben Hernandez won by fall at 138.

Boulder City won 10 matches by fall in a 71-10 victory over Desert Oasis.

Brady Branscrum (113), Jimmy Brown (120), Fox, Tyler-James Rushworth (138), Foster, Dylan Dennington (160), Alex Pappageorge (170), Dustin Edlund (182), Nelson Van Diest (195) and Rozycki all had pins for the Eagles.

Bishop Spank (126) won by fall for the Diamondbacks.

Against Rancho, the Eagles won nine matches by fall to beat the Rams, 63-12.

Branscrum, Brown, Fox, Rushworth, Foster, Patrick Garvin (152), Pappageorge, Van Diest and Rozycki had the pins for Boulder City.

Rancho’s Joshua Smith (126) also won by fall.

Rancho 48, Desert Oasis 32 — At Boulder City, the Rams recorded nine pins to beat the Diamondbacks.

Leiana Nacapuy (113), Denzelleo Apangchan (132), Julian Quezada (160), Akram Reshad (182), Jason Cebreros (195), Mario D’Angelo (220) and Kwansi Cooper-Murray (285) won by fall for the Rams, who also beat Bonanza, 42-22.

Preston Prescia (138), Elisha Manago-Gasper (145) and Andrew Placencio (152) each won by fall for the Diamondbacks.

Desert Oasis 54, Bonanza 22 — At Boulder City, the Diamondbacks won six matches by forfeit to top the Bengals.

Spaur (126), Manago-Gasper (138) and Prescia (145) won by pin for Desert Oasis.

Ammon Montenegro (182) won by fall for Bonanza.

Connor Bourne, who has a 171-29 record during his high school career after pinning Eldorado’s Marques Anaya-Casarez in the 182-pound quarterfinals on Friday, will face Centennial’s Ike Edwards in Saturday’s semifinal round, which begins at 10 am at Bonanza.
