The man who Las Vegas police said shot three people dead on Tuesday and then turned the gun to his head died Thursday, according to the Clark County coroner’s office.
Blake Widmar, 21, of Las Vegas, died from a gunshot wound to the head, the coroner said Sunday. His death was ruled a suicide.
Metro officers responded to calls reporting gunshots about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Broadstone Talavera apartments, 2251 S. Fort Apache Road, near the intersection of Sahara Avenue.
Officers found Widmar’s wife, Veronica Caldwell, 33, her daughter, Yvonne Rose Reyes, 18, and Reyes’ boyfriend, Cory Justin Childers, 21, suffering from gunshot wounds outside the apartment. All later died, police said.
Widmar was later found inside the apartment suffering from what police described as a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He had not been expected to survive.
The shooting remained under investigation and the circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately known.
Widmar’s identity had not been made public by police.
