Police investigating fatal rollover crash in northeast Las Vegas
A rollover crash in the northeast valley killed one person Monday night, Metro said.
That person was transported to University Medical Center, Clark County Deputy Fire Chief Kelly Blackmon said.
The car took out a light pole during the crash, and at least one technician was called to the scene, NV Energy's website confirmed.
Details on what happened before the crash were not immediately available. But the aftermath left one sedan in the intersection's southbound lane of Lamb — its car alarm blaring — and the other sedan in the northbound lane of Lamb, just north of the Craig intersection.
That second sedan was the one that rolled. It landed on its roof, and the crash left it mangled and compressed. A single body, covered with a white sheet, could be seen in the car.
As of 8:15 p.m. Metro's fatal detail was investigating the scene. The entire intersection was shut down to traffic, leaving cars on Craig backed up to Interstate 15 onramp. The intersection was not expected to re-open for a few hours.
