Motorcyclist killed in northwest valley

A motorcyclist was killed Thursday afternoon in the northwest valley.

Las Vegas police said the motorcycle was struck by a car about 2 p.m. near Craig Road and Rainbow Boulevard. The rider died at the scene.

The intersection was shut down as detectives investigated.

The rider’s name will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.
